Food plot is finally coming in, but the acorns have dropped and we're not seeing very many deer on our game cameras anymore. Then this guy showed up and changed everything!!!

Nice deer. I've been hunting since mid-September here in NC. Good luck when you go.

Tuesday morning I got up and saw a deer in the back yard, and I'm in town. It stayed for about an hour and then came back in the afternoon for another 40 minutes or so. This was taken from the back patio, about twelve feet away from it. It wasn't very concerned with me standing there.

Great looking deer. The acorn crop here is the most I have seen in many years. Have not seen deer for the last month as a result.

Acorns have just dropped from the storm we had last week. 5 1/2 inches on that Friday, five inches since then. There are areas that you cannot walk without being on a layer of acorns. All the pictures I've had of deer for the past several months are all gone. This guy just showed up and I''m pretty sure he is in the early stages of the rut. There is another big 8 point that is real nice who has been a regular, but not as good as this 9 point.

flyerdan, If I had deer hanging out around the house during the day, they would all die of old age. I don't care how big the rack is, I would do everything I could to protect them. Then go hunt the wild deer out in the back of my land.

I have to many and cannot hunt them. Protected and only way to get rid of them is park service to cull the herd.
To many people putting out food for them.

I may have to get my bow out and practice. They are destroying my trees and shrubs.
Had 18 standing around my hot tub last winter.

I've seen more deer this year than I can remember. Aside from all those I see in the fields I have had a close call with one crossing the road every week. Also, I've seen more wild turkey this year than ever. We had a very wet spring, a very nice -- low humidity -- summer, and a warm fall. Don't know if that is the reason but the game seems to be thriving in my part of PA this year.

The population is down in VT, Last winter was hard. Only antlers this season. Lot's of sighting in going on in the area today. ;-)

Pretty deer for sure. Our gun season is open in Northern NY but it's extremely warm(70F) for the first week in November.Suppose to go back to our normal 30-40 degrees this week end.
