Neighbor doesn't want me to farm.

I got a response from the neighbors. Thanking me for leaving the trees between orchard edge and property line and acknowledging the property line markings that I made. He suggested marking the corners with metal fence posts since the last survey used flimsy pins. Said he purchased some last year but never put them in. I will offer to help put them in. That keeps us both satisfied as to their veracity.
Good fences make good neighbors.

Well, like I always say you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar! :D

The common translation of this phrase is "You make more friends by being nice than by being rude".

There are those that think this is not true.

It's good to see you making progress.

One thing I would check, there may be a requirement to have the posted no trespassing signs every X amount of feet from each other. Being nice and not putting a sign within his view may not be in accordance with requirements.

Just a thought.

You and one other member are taking the phrase too literally in my opinion. There is a "real meaning" lost in "literal translation".

The meaning of the phrase does not involve catching flies.

No, just having fun. Did you notice the last line of the linked page?

"*But only for fruit flies. When applied to the use of kindness when dealing with humans, it's still true. "

I didn't read all the posts, this has gotten a bit long. But I agree with what I read that Eddie and OldMc said. I can see both sides, yours and his. To me, I usually take the humble, low road. Meanwhile, do not tread on me. I'd be concerned about chemical spray coming to my house, if that became an issue. I love apple orchards though. Anyway, I hope it works out for both of you and you can be friends.

Good news for the OP, yet some still advocate being mean. Why?

Re vinegar for flies - I think it only works for fruit fly species. The vinegar smell is similar to fermenting fruit. Most other insects prefer sweet to acidic. Discarded grape must ( skins etc.) are a great attractant for fruit flies after they begin to go "off". The only other flying insects I have seen at them is wasps.

No. Bees do not bite. Bees sting, and since I used to keep a few hives at one time, then I have obviously been stung a few times too. I still like bees. I have also been stung by various kinds of wasps in a few countries. Bitten by a few dogs too. Only one snake ever tried to bite me, a Red Bellied Black (Australia) and it died under the heel of my Wellie. Snakes cannot get through Wellies. Still no reason to be mean. Remember Two Bit, there is always somebody meaner and faster. It might be the OP, it might be me, or it might be somebody you never imagined could be.

Mister, you obviously do not recognize a famous line from the Bogart movie "To Have and Have Not".

You, mister, are one hypersensitive puppy if you think anything I said in that post was "mean".
