Kubota L3400, Kubota G5200H
Just bought a used Kubota L3400, 360 hrs, FEL w/QA bucket, R4's. Nice machine.

Was wanting to fill the tires but when checking the tire pressure, found them to be already filled!

Problem is, I don't know what they are filled with or if they are tubed. I think now-a-days the tractor dealerships use methanol and water.

I want to know if it's calcium and if so, make sure it's tubed. Any ideas?

BTW, looks like one front tire is filled too! But not the other.

OH. It's pretty thin and watery. Not perfectly clear. Smells kind of chemically. Doesn't looks like windshield washer fluid -- not sudsy.

Possibly calcium chloride.
Does it stink? If yes, then it is NOT calc but more likely a Rim Guard/water mixture. It is pretty hard to tell you without a picture of the juice in a clear glass/plastic container.

look at the valve stems, if a steel or brass nut is holding it on its tubeless, if its plastic it has a tube in it

Probably not Rim Guard. Rim Guard is beet juice. I smells kinda like Killians Irish Red to me. The color is a maroon/brown. I would say chloride.

I’d say calcium chloride too. It certainly isn’t Rimguard based on that description.

I hope it's not calcium chloride. Don't want to rust out my rims! If so, I hope it's tubed, but I don't think it is. I know the valve stems are metal, but I seems like I remember seeing some rubber too.

I'll try to get some pics and/or video of the fluid and the valve stems this weekend.

Thanks...

What does calcium chloride smell like? Smell was kind of chemically. Didn't exactly smell like alcohol, but maybe.

If you bought it used from a dealer, call them to see. If it was a private sale, perhaps the prior owner had them filled by the dealer and you can find out who the dealer was and call.
BTW...>Congrats on the new tractor!

I don't remember calcium chloride having any smell at all. But it has been over 20 years since I have had any in a tire.
