Good morning! 50˚ high clouds, variable wind today and a 50% chance of rain heading to the mid 60s. Slept with the AC off and the windows open last night. Deer season opened but since the land behind me sold and the relatives of the previous owner have lost their hunting lease and it no loungers sounds like a shooting range. I need to meet the new owners, but I suspect an investor bought it.

We are having some major recycling this morning with the pets.

Grey2 is eating then throwing up and Whipper is eating the throw-up. (Sorry for sharing this morning's recycling story.)

that's really appetizing Don...:D
found some furnace install pics
unimpressive factory wire management on top, bottom looks ok

packing box came with Ingersoll Rand plastered all over it. Only place Trane was mentioned was on door labels, so
makes me wonder if they make this unit for others.

I would guess that a titanium or inconel heater might last longer, but the price would be higher than female giraffe anatomy...

Finally got the lawn mowed last night. Yes, started at dusk and used the headlights on the deere LT180. It was hard to get motivated to mow when the temp was below 60. Just didn't feel right not sweating. It was actually overgrown to about an average of 6" depth due to the rains.

I'm expecting the long awaited camshaft for my Impala to show up from GM next week. Long story but I balked at the price when there were 4 available (couldn't afford it at the time) and now having to wait since August for it to arrive... Poor car has been down for 1.5 years. I pray I can remember how to put it back together, and have the strength to do it. My right shoulder has been giving me a lot of problems.

My beautiful wifey just brought me coffee. I am blessed.

Hope all of you have a great day!

Good morning, 41F here heading to 46F with continued winds. Don't mine the cold but really hate when it had wind to go with it.

RNG, what kind of compression are you going to run? I'm interested to know how much the 2nd plug helps. I know from aviation, it adds about 150 rpm when you test your ignition on pre-take off warmup.

The compression will be 9.5:1. The pistons are flat topped but the combustion chamber is domed except out at the edges, where there's about a quarter inch wide squish band. A dated design, and one that promotes detonation with what passes for gas these days, and why the second plug is needed. What I find most interesting is that the advance setting on the timing must be dropped from 35 degrees to 28 degrees. That keeps the piston from working against too much combustion pressure on the way up to TDC. It's what you'd expect, as with two plugs firing, it takes less time for the fuel to burn and combustion pressure rises faster. Forget to change the timing and the fuel mileage deteriorates and power is lost, not gained. It was also surprising that no changes were needed in the carburetors. They're constant velocity Bings, so maybe that explains it. :confused3:

28 this morning and headed to 62 today.

Have to go with wife to take son for Christmas pictures. Just how I want to spend a Saturday. Then may do some driving around. With no real place to go. My favorite but wife hates it. So payback. Then will try to finish my bush hogging. Only a couple of hours left of that for the year.

Very sad what happened in France. Was watching the news this morning and a security expert was on and asked how to protect all soft targets. He said "I don't know". I looked at wife and said an armed citizenship. She agreed. And he admitted the police couldn't be everywhere.

I counted thirteen fence posts that storm Abigail blew over yesterday. Not her fault really, all the posts were rotten. Today we get to meet Kate. The tail end of this hurricane is expected to give some exceptional rainfall of up to 6" as it breaks over to the west of us in Wales and possibly even more to the North in Lancashire and Yorkshire. Giving names to weather events like this still seems a bit weird to me. These female ones seem quite feisty, hope the male ones will be more like wet wimps.

Aren't the names supposed to be assigned alphabetically? That's a big jump from Abigail to Kate to be made in just a few days. What happened to all the storms in between?

Morning all!

Two weeks until the wedding, all is good here, been busy is all. I'm clearing up timber slash, making 3 big bonfire piles for the reception after party, and cutting firewood.

I'm having an issue with my little limbing saw, the 18" Echo 420. The chain keeps popping off, typically cutting small limbs out of the way so I can get to the rounds... I thought maybe I was letting it get too loose, but hmmm...

I hope and pray all is well with all of you my friends.

Be well,
David

I hate the thought of turning the US into an armed camp, but between terrorists, gangsters, armed robbers, home invaders, and mass killers, it sure looks like it's headed that way. Unless, of course, the gun controllers win out, and as demonstrated in France, five guys with illegal machine guns will be able to kill more than a hundred people in only a few minutes, and there won't be anybody around to stop them. From that perspective, the Israeli model doesn't seem too bad, yet even there where military walks the street and many more people carry concealed than here, they haven't stopped the blood shed.

Good morning all. 43F this morning, partly cloudy, light east breeze. Forecast for 65F, mostly cloudy and light to moderate breeze. Last couple of days have been reasonably productive, got leaves mowed, boat seat is out, caught up on bike maintenance. Today is lunch in Arlington, which will make an all day affair. Did catch 1 gremlin yesterday, Samsung power supply finished of two capacitors, now takes 5 minutes to start :( . Can't find any really good capacitors locally(low ESR rated @ 105C), so will need to mail order.
