Oil & Fuel Permatran 821XL vs Permatran III

I sent my son to the MF dealer almost an hour away to pick up a 5 gallon jug of Permatran III. I had called them in advance and told them what I need and specified it was for a GC2400 and that I needed Permatran III.

They sent him home with 821XL. Is 821xl the same? Safe to use? I will call them tomorrow but wondered if any of you have experience with the two types.

I think it is just a replacement since I cannot find anything new for Permatran III, like it isn't made any more.

Just updated formulation / name of Permatran III. Safe to use as replacement.

Should be no need to worry. A new version would specify on the bottle, that it meets the requirements/specifications for Permatran 3.
