Original Tractor Cab Kubota RTV1140

I am going to use my RTV for snow removal this year and wanted some protection. I've done a bit of research and found that there are a few soft cabs in the $600-1000 range that use zippered doors. On the high end, you can get a full hard Curtis cab for about $5500. In the "middle", at $1650, OTC offers a soft cab with actual hinged latched doors. My Kubota dealer happened to have one for sale from a demo unit, so I bought the OTC cab, used, from them. We just put it on this weekend and I thought I'd share some pictures. I have some initial thoughts on this which I'll share a little later...

After yesterdays payment, I have one more pmnt and my RTV1140 is paid off. :cool2: Bought it so the Grands would spend time with me but it has become one of my most valuable machines/tools/fun machine/work horse while the Grands went from 6 years old to 11 years old and the 4 year old Grandson also loves it..

You'll like that cab in the winter...Found that plowing snow with my former RTV500 was brutal cold since you're just sitting there and steering (I was plowing snow) as opposed to a quad where you're fighting the machine and somewhat staying warm...My neighbor bought a Mule and is thinking of a similar cab set up. He found a heater that uses those little camp propane cylinders that sit in a cup holder to break the chill..Ebay I think...Nice set up!!

Am ordering a OTC doors and rear panel setup for a JD 825i. Seems like the best bang for the buck in doing an enclosed cab of all the cab makers in the market.

The main problem I had with mine was water pooling on the soft top and water running in between the roof and door tops. See photo for why this was a problem before. I solved this (95% of it, anyway) by putting the OEM Kubota plastic top over top of the OTC soft top (had to punch holes for U-bolts). The plastic roof channels all the water away from the doors.

I see. OTC did not offer any other combinations for my particular model. I'll be interested to see how you like yours!

Does anyone have the OTC for the 1140 they would like to sell? I spoke with a couple companies and they no longer make them
