Ice Storm in Central Oklahoma 11-28-15

Wow ! How do you guys get all this cool stuff ?? It's 72* as I type this !

I remember the last couple of ice storms we got around central Alabama and northward that the peach tree growers/producers liked it when the buds were frozen with water encasing them instead of just freezing. I guess maybe the ice actually insulates the buds when it encases them? This would be in an early spring type of event when the buds were forming on the trees.

I've also known the times when these peach growers would hire helicopters to hover over the orchards

Talked to my son in Guymon Sunday. Iced up there overnight. Treacherous walking on the church parking lot.

Hard for me to conceive of ya'lls ice storm conditions. It set a record of 80 F down here in central Alabama today. Way too warm. Messing up my deer hunting too. One thing that scares me about this really warm weather this time of the year is we enter a secondary storm season here and the warm and cold fronts collide and whamo. Instant tornadoes etc.

I sure wish it was 80F here. Right now it's 40F supposed to get to 45F.

Sun is out and the Ice is finally melting away. It's about gone now.

Can't believe it's supposed to be 59F on the 10th.

That'll be a good day for me to be outside getting things done and I'm gonna sure enjoy it out there if it does get that warm.
