Welcome to the TBN gang from Olalla. I use to live in Portland and worked all over SW WA. You are welcome to the Columbia River Gorge climate in winter, I will stay wet and warm.

Ron

Hello Seabee We are about 15 miles north of the Columbia River Gorge so we don't receive the heavy winds like you would get in Camas or Vancouver. Watched the Seahawks game this afternoon, I see that Olalla was colder than Battle Ground today. Stay warm and work inside if you can. Ernie

It's been cold and clear here but rain back in by midweek. I will be in Vancouver at the VA Hospital. I am a consultant to Fisher House whom is building a short term family housing unit there for Veterans seeking medical short term medical procedures for their rehab period. I was an Industrial Pipefitter and Refrigeration Tech in that area for 20 years. Yes I know all about working the industrial plants up and down the Willamette and Columbia Rivers plus. i have lots of COLD Stories related to that. Not an old man's game so gave it up in 1996 when I turned 65.

Hello Wagtail Thanks for the welcome from Downunder. We have made five vacation trips to Australia and every trip was great. Got to see a few tractors and some farm equipment, but not enough. Haven't made it down to Tasmania yet. G'day, 3pt Ernie

Thanks Dave for the warning. The rain is what keeps this side of the Cascades so nice. Down here at an elevation of 342' we don't have plow or blow snow, just have good rain gear. 3pt Ernie

Hello LPS I used to know a Coast Guard guy who worked the Columbia and Snake River navigation aids all the way up to Lewiston, Idaho. He was in the CG for about 16 years, got out about 2005. He teaches school around Astoria, OR. 3pt Ernie
