Tresspassing neighbors

If you let people use your property, just make sure that your insurance coverage is up to date. If they are injured on your property, in many cases you will wind up responsible for some or all the liability. If it is posted and they trespass, they may still try to come after you, but you will be in a much better position. It is sad that this what has become of the world, but this day and age, everything has become someone else's responsibility rather than the party that should be responsible.
That varies by state. In many places a landowner isn't liable unless he's charging for access.

In 22 states, posting is not required, which means it is against the law for hunters to trespass on private property without the landowner's permission even if the land is not posted. - See more at: Select State Laws on Hunting and Trespassing - FindLaw

In Mississippi no posting is REQUIRED.
Mississippi criminal law makes trespassing illegal. A person can be charged with trespassing in Mississippi when he 努illfully or maliciously trespasses upon the property of another person. Trespassing is a misdemeanor, and carries a potential sentence of up to six (6) months in jail and a $500.00 fine.

My solution, which seemed to have worked, was random firing of my 12 gauge w/ #6 into the woods, I've about 200 yards to the property line and about 250 or 300 to the nearest neighbors thru dense woods (except out to the road and I don't fire that way). Last weekend our son came by and "sighted" in his AR15. About 200 rounds aimed out back, where there is a hill for a backstop and I own about 800 yards back, above and beyond the hill. From the sounds of it many of my other neighbors do similar.

...so how do you maliciously trespass if there's no sign's identify the boundary or saying you're not welcome?

Wouldn't it give you a clue if you don't know who owns the property?

If you haven't spoken with the landowner to get permission, then it's tresspassing. It doesn't seem that difficult to me, and it's just basic manners.

It live in an area that does require posting, and that always seemed strange to me. When I go into a bank, there's no sign that says, "No bank robbing." So it must be OK?????

In Alabama, You are considered trespassing (posted or not) unless, you have written permission to be on the property..

Long ago I was told "If it isn't yours, it belongs to someone else."

More people need to understand that.

Some still believe in "finders, keepers" even if it is on your property, in your car, in your house or on your person.

Some people did not learn common good manors. I would go over and talk with him and let him know you do not permit others on your property with out an invite.

The rifle could be nothing more than for critters, snakes, etc.

Side note: If you do not think squirrels are not dangerous Google squirrel attack in California. Was a recent news story on a guy who lost the fight with the ninja squirrel.

Keep your property insurance up to date no matter what. It has nothing to do with 'private' signs or not.

Depends on the state. in Vermont as far as hunting is concerned:
Notices prohibiting the taking of wild animals shall be erected upon or near the boundaries of lands to be affected with notices at each corner and not over 400 feet apart along the boundaries thereof. Notices prohibiting the taking of fish shall show the date that the waters were last stocked and shall be maintained upon or near the shores of the waters not over 400 feet apart. Legible signs must be maintained at all times and shall be dated each year. - See more at: Select State Laws on Hunting and Trespassing - FindLaw
So if there are no signs it's ok.
But how the heck did they pick 400 FEET?
I've a 73 acre parcel in Vermont and to post it will require maintaining about 20 signs. If I had to post my land in Mississippi it would probably take about 100 signs.
