Isn't Windows 10 still considered Beta and they released it to have more input to getting the bugs out. There seems to be an awful lot of communicating with Win10 and the development teams if you allow it thru internal switches.

FWIW...after "beta testing" (which usually begins 3 years before a tentative release date for a new Windows version is mentioned...)...and with the most common issues resolved they send out what is called "release candidates"... there can be as many "RC" releases as there are "beta versions"...but once they are satisfied with the final "RC"...it is released to the public...any modifications after the public release are made by updates, service packs or upgrades (i.e., 10.1 etc...)

I really like Windows 10.........aside from learning how to navigate......once you learn......it's actually very good.

From my perspective. After installing Win10 it's was receiving numerous patches almost daily in the two weeks I had in on my laptop. So Beta or not. It's still a work in progress. Limited apps available. It doesn't like google or any other browser. I was annoyed that it was taking nearly five minutes to shut down. In reality it was patching Windows with previous downloads. I'll wait a few months for it to settle down and let software developers catch up with available updates to make their software compatible. Frankly, the presentation of Win10 is very bland.

Odd, I use nothing but Firefox on my tablet and it runs just as quick as the MS browser, maybe quicker. I am using a beta tablet version though. A couple things to note that is for anything battery powered, 1st make sure all of the privacy/update buttons are as you want or MS will use your equipment to patch other equipment. 2. Put the unit in airplane mode (hit the wifi icon and select the airplane) when not in use or it will patch at odd times and use your battery up. I've been using 10 for over a month and like it much better than 8.x and many things I like better than 7. After a few weeks it stopped patching as often and I finally got it figured out so that my battery lasts a few days as long as I'm not watching videos or using it constantly.

My recently bought laptop came with Windows 10 so no upgrade was required. Haven't noticed any performance problems. Takes seconds to shut down. Using Microsoft Edge to browse.......really like it. Must be an upgrade thing.......
