Three point hitch stuck

/ Three point hitch stuck #11
So, I wanted to understand why/how the 3pt was lifting even though the lift lever is locked in the low position. I watched the hitch as I engaged/disengaged the rear remote. Each time on return to center of the rear remote, the 3PH would jog ever so slightly up. With the speed control set to anything but off (closed?), this is OK because the 3PH immediately drops back down that little bit. But, if the speed control is closed, it holds the jog position. Do this enough times and before you know it the 3PH is all the way up. I believe this is what was happening to me.

I just wanted to post so others are aware. From now on, I will set the speed control to maximum whenever not using the 3PH.

Sounds like some sort of feedback through the hydraulics, but with the knob closed the position control can't correct back to the set position.

Thanks for the information. Maybe I've been lucky because I've never fully closed the speed control valve but will make sure I don't now.

It would help if the control knob were anywhere other than where it is located. It is so easily hit with one's foot that I've actually spun the knob off it's threaded rod and had it rolling around on the platform!?

I don't like how the 3PH arms can and do interfere with the BH platform and access to same. At one stage I removed the end sections of both 3PH arms, (the part with the ball the pin goes into), to allow for less stuff in the way around access to the hoe platform, and to prevent the 3PH arms from interfering with the whole setup.

There is no real easy solution, but I think one can set the 3PH arms above the hoe platform, IIRC, so upward 'drift' would not cause the problem the OP experienced, however I'm thinking this from memory so I could be wrong....

This wont' work with my Rhino hoe. I'm just going to pull the pins on the upper-to-lower-arm connecting rods and let the lower arms dangle. Then the hitch can be in any position without worry. Or Maybe I'll just fully remove. It isn't that hard.

I have a backhoe made by rhino now for my bobcat CT 225 and I raise the hitch all the way up. Keeps it out-of-the-way without having to remove the hitch. Makes it a little bit more difficult to hook up but not bad. Removing would definitely work and probably be the best option though if you don't mind taking the time.
