Here is a 44x88 that is already built and on wheels in Grimes, which is basically a suburb of Des Moines. I'd buy it but I don't have any way to unload it once i get it home. I just took the loader off and put the snow blower on.

That's a really nice table. The price is good for all the work in it.He might take less this time of year.I made my wife a little 8' x 16' double axle diamond plate trailer so she could move square bales from a lower barn up to the horse barn.I'd go get it and leave it on the trailer.I put two overhead sliding electric hoists in my garage. They're rated for 2000 lbs each.

So I ended up buying a sheet of 1/2" plate. I am in the process of building the table but trying to figure out how to flatten the sheet. In the 8' direction the sheet is lost perfect. In the 4' direction its roughly 1/4" cupped across the full 8' length. Is that typical tolerance for steel like this?

Was it sheared on that end? If the answer is yes, shearing will put a 'bow' in the drop off end. Most steel plate these days are stretcher leveled (google that) up to and including half inch, and it's usually pretty flat. Stretcher leveling became popular because of the demand for 'flat' sheets that are being cut with laser, water jet, plasma etc. But I don't think your sheet is way out of spec. I like to use 8"-10" channel welded vertically to the underside to help straighten it out. Basically, build a box underneath with the channel and tie your legs into the corners. Very stout! Heat shrinking is another option. (google that also)

My best weld table is cast iron, nothing sticks to it.

It is purpose built as a weld table, the top is 2.5" thick with another 8" of webbing underneath for strength.

Couple weeks ago over on Welding Web I helped a guy heat shrink his table back straight.
