34 and frosty - returning to more winter-like weather. But will warm again to 60 for the last time this week.

Cut our Christmas tree and brought it to the house on the tractor yesterday. It was heavy. So now typing about 4 feet from it, smells good.

48 going to 66 today. The weather forecast going forward is rain, cold weather, then another warming period with multiple days in the mid 70's next week.
The only thing white about this Christmas forecast are the bits of white cotton fluff along the roadsides, blowing off the trucks after harvest. The whole area gets dandruff...

am off to get my oil changed in the truck. I asked for synthetic oil when I made the appt. and the service person said the Hemi takes regular oil. He acted like it was unusual to ask for synthetic oil. That seemed really odd but they said they could get the synthetic (special order from the Autozone down the street?....) This is a very old dealership almost an hour away that I likely will not go back to since they are building a new Dodge dealership in my town to replace the one that went out about five years ago. The place today, Dixie Motors, was built in the sixties and has never been renovated. Old seats, old bathrooms, crummy tiny waiting room, not sure they are going to survive the new competition.

Sheet metal roofers coming in today I hope and will get the roof finally done on my new pole barn shed. And I need to call on that stone for delivery next week. Thanks for pics Farmer.

Yesterday evening right before dark I look down the hill and all the black cows were white. A mystery to solve today.
No Ron I was not into the special edition Shiner Holiday Cheer beer.

43 this morning and headed to 61 today. Last warm day as cold front will come through tonight and tomorrow's high will be in the upper 40's. About average.

More maintenance at chicken coops today. Maybe try to spread more gravel. Then out to dinner for my birthday tonight.

Kev. Got that router. Wife got me the Dewalt at lowes with the fixed and plunge base. Now just need some bits to try it out with. 2 1/4 hp.

Buppies. How's the weather looking for January 15-18 for the Gatlinburg, TN area? Seen some forecast for light snows.

Happy Birthday Farmer!! Hope you get some seat time in on your new present. :laughing: My Kubota came with one of those light material buckets, along with an inch and a half bow in the lower lip. Fella I bought it from musta been trying to pry stumps up out of the ground with it. :duh:

Frosted cows, Don? Neighbor kids pulling a prank? Maybe some of that left over cactus beer? :shocked:

Got the modified battery in yesterday and the bike fired right up, just like it should. Shoved an exhaust gas analyzer up one of the mufflers and went for a ride. Good power from right off idle now, and even stronger up to 6000 RPM. Meter shows it's running rich all over, especially at small throttle openings, so today I'll drop the needles in the carbs one notch. More riding today to confirm.

Walked a letter up to the mail box yesterday and noticed on the way back down the hill that I'd lost another tree in Sunday's wind storm. Another oak, snapped off about 6' from the ground. Darn shame, as it made good shade for where I usually park the splitter.

So that's two good sized trees down on the ground and needing some clean up. The other is down off a steep hillside and came down in a storm last year. Been waiting on a good reason to install trailer hitch receivers on the tractor so I can mount a portable winch, and I guess this is it.
