Noticed yesterday that I don't have a retaining pin in this. It also looks like it could slide out both sides . What holds it on from the other side? Am I missing something here? IMG_2665.jpg

You are missing a lynch pin that will go in the hole in the top link pin. The other end of the top link pin should have a shoulder that will prevent it from slipping through the attachment bracket.

CountyLine Lynch Pin, 7/16 in., Heavy Duty, S070913TSC - For Life Out Here

Edit

Taking a closer look at your photo, it looks like your top link is Category 2 and the top link pin is Category 1, hence the top link bushing. You say that the top link pin looks like it could slide through from either side. The attachment holes may be set up for a Category 2 pin. Have you tried such a pin?

You can also put a washer on the shoulder side to add a little more protection if you don't like it. Or use a trailer pin of the right size depending on what the attachment is. Still need a lynch pin on the open side.

From my observation of the photo, it looks like the top link is a Cat 2 and I don't believe there is a reducing bushing in the top link. The pin appears to be about 1/8" or more smaller than the ball in the top link. If this is the case, you can pick up a bushing at almost any farm and ranch store or your dealer.
After I got my LS P7010, I got tired of having to swap pins and bushings so I took my cutting torch to the top link on all my Cat 1 stuff and made the holes to fit my Cat 2 pins so no more bushing needed.

Gary,

You can zoom in on the top link in the photo (at least with my browser). I think there is a bushing present.

It could be since the pin looks centered in the closeup. It looks off center in the photo which is why I though it didn't have a bushing. Either way the ears on each side are part of the top link ball and no bushing is visible. With the proper hole size in the implement, the pin shown wont come thru due to the shoulders on the pin. He still needs to put a pin in the off side. I really don't like those type pins with the small shoulder on them. I prefer the type with the large hand hold on one side, it makes them easier to remove when you have something to hold on to and they wont come thru a slightly enlarged hole.

Yes there is a bushing in it. I will pick up about 5 of those retaining pins at tractor supply. I only have 7 hours on the tractor so I'm wondering if one of the people who I saw on game cam walking around my tractor didn't liberate it. It seems like a trifling thing for someone to do.

They can come off. I read on a TBN thread that the black ones at TSC (linked above) are less likely to become "sprung."

Get 5 black ones, and about 20 of the cheap ones. They're only $.25 each, and you'll find yourself needing more and more. And they find ways of disappearing.
