A day in the life of a Kubota BX25D

My backhoe comes off for winter. I made up a 3PH draw bar that I can hang 6 42lb suitcase weights on. It also has a 2" receiver on it for moving my trailer. I figure it weighs close to 300 lbs with the frame itself. Works good for me as I clear 4 driveways - all paved - and need to maneuver around parked cars or get in close to garage doors, etc. I have plenty of traction even without chains. Might be different if I was clearing gravel drives, however. Probably would add the chains then.

Here's a pic of the draw bar/weight frame. Don't have any of it mounted on the tractor itself it seems.

I just hopped back on here today.....each day is a day.

Little tractor has still been getting use, just not by me. My son has been using it to mow with and he thinks it is the most fantastic thing in the world.....IIRC it is sitting on just under 200 hours.

I have used it to take the trash down, I have ~ 800' of driveway....and rolling the trash down or picking it up and putting it in the truck are not in the picture for me any more.

I have not been in the shop for about a year now.....so no tinkering on anything....I have started to build plastic models however....it is a little like working on things. I have a half done 1963 VW bug, and a 1930's windmill apart in my shop that I just can't get going on.

We have talked about selling the property....but I really don't want to live back in town. After my son moves on (he is 19 now and likely this is his last time at home) we will just let the green stuff grow.
