47 going to 51. Rain is gone, 0.80 total.

Heading to Virginia Beach to take my mom to lunch and shopping. Can be an interesting trip - going through the Hampton Roads bridge-tunnel and seeing the aircraft carriers at Norfolk Naval Station, and occasionally a submarine passing over the tunnels. But the traffic can be tough at times.

R Walter - sounds you have the possibility of a white Christmas if weather stays cold. I saw some pictures of the snow around Taos - looks like you got a good one.

Drew - your new shelter is looking great, but a little lonely - I think it needs a new PTO tiller to keep it company!

Now Billie I think you are absolutely right, since I don't have one, and want to plant a serious garden this year. First thing to get under there next week is my nice LP mower, then the rear blade and rake. Since I have all those rafters, sure going to hang something from them, rolls of wire, something. I paid for vertical as well as horizontal...and frankly a foot too much vertical; the building should have been lower, but now I suppose there is room for a ten foot door someday. Not in my plans though.

65 degrees in warm rainy weather, rain stops about noon, cold air coming in steadily driving temps down below freezing tonight and cold tomorrow.

today I cook five pounds of shrimp so that I can get the smell out of the house by tomorrow. Boil them until they just turn pink, then dump them in ice to quick cool, so not to overcook. And then some Kelchners's cocktail sauce, one regular and one with about 50% more fresh horseradish added. Pink and powerful...

I have just discovered how Dangerous Facebook is. Looks like I am headed to Dawson WV after Christmas to look at a Draft Horse. Will be there on my B-day (the 29th) and I can't think of a better present for myself. All I remember about WV is mountains, does anyone know anything about the Dawson area? Why do I get the feeling I will be getting 6mpg in my truck pulling a 2000 pound horse in the trailer...

I am selling my 7yo Haflinger gelding, he is stout enough to pull stuck tractors out of the mud and small enough to ride

Need to get coffee started brewing. 40° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 69° with lots of sun. Did not get anything done yesterday. Sinus problems. Feeling better this morning. Should get patio work completed.
Good morning All.

It's colder here right now than it is in Montreal....it is that damp kind of cold too, not dry. The kind that surely creeps into your bones.

I have no heater in my barn. I figured I'd need a heater about as often as an Eskimo would need A/C. :)

Burrrr. I no likey cold weather. Especially when I need to do some mechanical work.

Good morning! Reporting the coldest so far at 34˚ heading to only 55˚. My city brothers are going to help me clean out my Dad's tractor shed next week. They are very worried about the two skunks in there. I told them they are just like stray cats just chase them out - this is going to be fun.:D

Kev, selling your Horse??? That's like me selling my dog.

35 this morning and headed to 40 today. Current wind chill is 28.

I'll be inside the chicken coops today. It's a balmy 75+ in there.

Bucket level indicator is ordered. Dealer to install once he gets the remotes in. I think that's going to help with the ease of use of the loader. Cut my hay feeding time in half. Nothing like only getting off the tractor to open and close gates. With a 3pt only setup I had to get off and move bale rings. Now I just pick them up. Be real nice when they freeze to the ground.

Eric. I think I would have to agree with your dog. If the sun hasn't woke up yet I don't need to either. :)

sounds like the most powerful one hp device you have...;) four wheel drive too

I can just see me leaping over my water ditches galloping around the outside of the orchard, hard left around the big tree and back down around, over two ditches on the fly and then skid to a halt in front of the barn. Wheee.
Hey boss, could you get off now, you lardbutt.
