Hi Guys,
I am thinking about getting someone to make me a sort of jig made of steel framing to sit my backhoe on. For 10 years I have backed my Kioti CK25 into the back of the garage drop my backhoe on a trolley and tie a couple of chains to the framing studs on the back wall and pull away, well I now have a New NX4510 and it wouldn't slide off that easy, pulled a stud. I was thinking of bolting a couple of anchor loops in the concrete floor but wondering if I could frame up a jig of some sort of angle iron and bolt it to the floor to act as a stop to slide my backhoe on as well as an anchor to pull it off. Any ideas for design and would the 5" concrete handle it. Thanks
Kevin

I think that would be a fun project to build! With out a picture, I'm not much help.
My little back hoe sets on the ground. I built an A-frame that attaches to the 3-point hitch. When I want to use the back hoe I just back up to it, shut the tractor off. Hook up the hydraulic hoses. Raise the back hoe up with the out riggers, and pin the back hoe up.

See attached pics. I tried to put the feet down but there is not enough grip for it to slide off the frame. See what I mean about the possibility of a cradle of some sort bolted to the floor and when I go to load it on it is a task to line up because I can't push into it. I'm wide open for any ideas from anyone. Thanks
Kevin

would something like a gantry crane on wheels work? Could be handy for lots of other things too.

Oh I see, you have a sub frame on the back hoe.
Do you use the out riggers to un bolt / un pin the sub frame?
Do you use the the back hoe it's self to help un pin?
Do you plan on storing the back hoe up against that wall?

I tried to use the outriggers but it won't grip well on the floor. Yes I leave it there whenever I don't use it.

I know how much fun complicated projects can be, but if traction is all you need you might go to your local farm supply and get one of those "horse mats" - basically just a 4'x6' piece of 1" thick rubber - cut a couple of 2' square pieces, set your outriggers on the pieces, and try again.

Relatively cheap, no holes in the floor.

Also, some of the full-size TLB's have reversible pads on the outriggers - one side like yours for dirt, flip it over and the other side has thick rubber pads for blacktop, concrete, etc - so you might be able to cut enough squares of the 1" rubber to glue together for enough thickness to stick out of the pads and grip the floor better.

Just another way to look at it... Steve

What do you think about building an angle iron frame that will fit inside the out rigger pads? Use 3 or 4 machine screw anchors. When the back hoe is on the tractor you can un bolt the angle iron frames. Place carriage bolts in the machine screw anchors so there won't be a tripping hazard.
Machine Screw Anchor ~ concrete anchors and fasteners ~ Concrete Fastening Systems

Far as a frame to sit the back hoe on, not sure you'll need one. With the back hoe having a sub frame attached to it. I would back into position, lower the out riggers onto the angle iron frames. Take the weight off the back hoe with the out riggers. Un bolt / pin the back hoe from the tractor. Raise the out riggers until the back hoe is setting on the concrete floor. Raise the out riggers to the full upright position, and un bolt the angle iron frames on the floor.

interesting, I like it. I'm going to try the cheaper method first although the floor s pretty smooth then failing that I have to get someone to make those jigs or some sort of gripping points for the outriggers. Thanks

Why don't you take the hoe off the subframe then take the subframe off the machine? I'm not familiar with how the exact process works but that would eliminate the need for traction?
