Not really. Keep the box when you open it, click the "its junk, return it" link on Amazon, put it back in the box, drop it in the outgoing UPS stack at work and off it goes.

First I have to say WOW!, I just noticed over 12,000 post since 08, to me that's in the WOW! range, take me 10 year's talking about bad toasters to catch up with that....
Doesn't return shipping have to be prepaid on a junk toaster?, when I looked into returning boots that was a little to small, to (Work Boots USA) they want $25.00 return shipping fee, fortunately my son like the boots so he bought them, then I ordered another pair, size bigger.

Depends. If its sold by Amazon and you have Prime, they pay for return shipping. If you don't have Prime its $5-8 depending on the package.

OldPath05, Don't be taken in by the number of posts, Pssst: he's one of the Admin guys, 'posing' as a regular guy, (just kidding about the posing part).:)
Guess you've got to find a different place to buy your stuff from, unless of course you can get your workplace to foot the bill, ahhh get it, foot the bill!?

Yes, if you do a lot of business with them Prime makes sense, or in your case you get 'free' return shipping at work; BTW, where is that again?

Oh yeah, to be on topic, I am grateful that the notification emails are now fixed! YEAH.

BUT, speaking of toast, and toasters, here's what I'd like to return- a whole bunch of half toasted bread or burnt to a crisp wannabe toast from the different pathetic excuses for toaster that have turned up since the silver bullet, (my term), 2 slice chrome plated toaster of yesteryears.
I mean come on people can we get some decent toasters made out there in the good 'ole USA?
Even if we send the plans for cell phones to China, can't we, in the great tradition of those Brits who fled England for most likely better toast and crumpets over here, get back on track and design and make the world's best toasters?! :anyone:

Admin? Nope, just a Moderator who helps remind people that they need to follow the rules (such as being polite to each other even if you disagree with the other person).

Foot the bill? They do nothing of the sort, I put the outgoing package with a pre-paid UPS label from Amazon on the box and set it where the UPS guy will get it when he comes to deliver packages each day. No expense to my employer and not really any different than dropping it off at any other UPS pickup location.
I pay Amazon to be a Prime member and they pay for my return shipping. Not sure how Amazon makes any money off of me, but thats their problem, not mine.

I was just bustin' on you. Some I'm sure would try to glom onto the bosses 'free' shipping, if they could figure a way to do so.
It's clear you don't and wouldn't, and yes, Prime is a good deal, especially if it keeps customers buying from them instead of somewhere else- that's how I'd figure the cost if I was Amazon.

Who wants warm bread with a suntan??

Just get the new smart toaster. It knows whether you grabbed that loaf as the bread man was taking it off the truck or the Mrs bought three loaves a week & a half ago and you might as well use 'em up. Advanced moisture and temperature sensing technology means 'not to worry' whether that loaf sat on the counter 'for a few' or nestled in the fridge right up until that special moment.

Biometric detection will recognize each user and toast any bread to the ultimate perfection, including gluten free. Additionally, with 'SmartToast II' blue-tooth, HDMI, and now USB 3.0 compatibility assure easy setup with hand-held and mobile devices. User profiles can be stored so others can make your toast for you.

Well, that or just watch for smoke. It usually gets you pretty close. tog

Wow... Now I am almost sorry the email notices are back. :D When I started this thread I never thought it would go 8 pages long, and be about toasters, Amazon, and cheating your boss out of shipping (which I do because I am the boss) But glad everyone is enjoying

I'm pretty sure you can't do that with toast that's not to your liking, even if it did come from a bread box.

Pretty sure Walmart would take it back (if you were the kind of scammer who would do that)...
