Blizzard conditions in Amarillo Tx.

I feel for you guys; I learned about the weather in that part of the country when I was with the DEQ. Our inspectors knew better than to schedule any kind of an inspection in the Panhandle area when the weather was kicking up. Couple of the old timers had some hair raising stories that convinced me.

I could tell you some wild weather stories..I spent 38 years working for a electric power company here. The wind here at times is unbelievable.

I understand your adventure, I spent several years in the Lubbock area and had my fill of it. A great area with some outstanding people but I don't miss the weather.

Started raining yesterday, got 3 inches in the gauge, then it turned to freezing rain, then sleet and now snow.

We're expecting a Blizzard to. Snow is supposed to start around 10:00 PM tonight. Wind is really blowing out there right now.

Was supposed to snow last night but we didn't get any.

Winter storm warning for south central through north central Iowa for tonight and Monday. Predicting 4 to 7 inches in DesMoines with 40 mph gusts. Slight hint of thunder snow. Could get interesting.
