Did you load the tires? Do you have aa ballast box? Putting some weight on the machine will help with traction in the snow. You could also put the tiller on there!

No, did not load the tires. No ballast box. I took the tiller off right away. Once I get used to the machine, I'll figure out what I need for traction. The tiller is quite heavy, that would work in a pinch.

Congratulations! I bought a GC1710 only very shortly before you. I have a whopping 2 hours of time on the tractor. Like you, I am hoping for a lot more!

Yes, congratulations! I still love my 2007 2310, and FINALLY it looks as though the blower will get a workout later today. Thomas and I are looking at our first measurable snow cover this winter. Amazing; 29 December before we got any real snow. (Oops- guess I need to re-set the date on the camera!)

Enjoy your new "household helper"!

Irving, is that an Aeronca in your avatar? And, I'm not sure which antique Japanese motorcycles you have, but I owned plenty over the years. I rode a Suzuki T250 (Hustler, X6) from California to Minnesota and back once. And flew a Cessna 182RG from California to the Arctic Circle and back. When I was young and dumb. Now I'm just old and dumb ha ha.

I once got the Suzuki T250 to 105mph down Sherwin Grade north of Bishop, CA. Racing a Ford Pinto, of all things. He was topped out just like me. And the 182 would cruise at 180mph (155 kts.) Now my top speed is 9mph, in high gear on the Massey!

Congrats on the new Massey!

Congrats on your new Massey, I enjoy the heck out of mine. Any excuse to get it out of the shop and play. Rarely have to deal with snow here like a lot of you do!

Thanks, fellas. Today I found out that moving snow with the factory bucket on the FEL is not a fast operation. Not that I thought it would be, anyhow. After 3 hours on the machine, I am now pretty good at using the joy stick (and being a previous skid loader owner helps). I just read in the owners manual about the float position on the joy stick, and the fast dump of the bucket. I didn't realize it has this ability, will try it tomorrow, darn it!
