Snow removal advice for a newbie

Yesterday I plowed our 700' gravel driveway after the first snow. It had been warm so the ground and gravel wasn't really frozen and I made a messy job of it. Drove around town and I wasn't the only one.....

A friend of mine lives in Knoxville, KY. I asked them what they use to clear snow from the roads.

"The sun."
I used to use, 'the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.' It worked good as long as I had a good 4x4

When you go to do your mothers pack a lunch. Everyone is going to be trapped and you will be very popular. Nothing worse plowing snow and having the next door neighbor standing on her porch waiting to get plowed out. Do not leave the house without a full tank of fuel. I just pull up to the garage and backdrag the snow out into the street. Pile the street snow someplace out of the way. If you are the only game in that subdivision you are in for a long day. Let someone else shovel the walks-good work for kids and it kills old people [you will find me glued to the tractor seat]

My relatives are living in Riodosa, New Mexico, they had the same problem regarding snow and wanted some help. Somebody suggested them to use a snow pusher which is readily available on Snow pushers, Ag and Industrial Attachments - ZM Industries . It solved their problem, maybe it can solve yours too. Good luck, be safe.
