Buying Advice In search of a sub-compact tractor

Kioti has been in the U.S. since the 80's. Not new to the U.S.A. either.

"Since the '80s" is newer to me, compared to Deere, IH, etc. I would guess in some parts of the U.S. they are still a bit unknown or "just arrived" to those folks.

Hello everyone,

As an update, we got to see the tractor this weekend. We won't be receiving it for a while as there is still 1-1.5 feet of snow.

Hey, Matt, nice pics!

Is that the 60" FEL bucket, or the 54"? And does it have the SSQA, and if so, is it from Kubota?

Hi James,

It's what they call "the 60-inch light materials bucket" at least in Canada. It has the SSQA, part number B2366 (aka 7J056-36103) from Kubota.

I'll have to look up Milton, ON- still snow! Based on the present exchange rate, and unknown future, you did fine. That's a nice rig, and I think the SSQA with the larger bucket is a great choice. You might consider wheel spacers for the rears, unless you will always be on flat ground, and you might ask the dealer to weld on some bucket chain hooks. In the video, the B2650 just seems like the rears are pretty narrow. Enjoy!!

Hello everyone,

We took delivery of the tractor at the cottage this weekend and I wanted to offer a bit of closure. As an FYI, this weekend the lake still had ice, and we still had some small snow piles around. We put about 4 hours on it, would have been more but we needed to install a new wood furnace. Anyway, we pushed over over some small trees, digging out a rotten stump and dredging a path between the bush and the garage. We also cleaned up a fell 60 foot spruce tree with minimal effort using the forks. We also had bucket chain hooks welded on, thanks for the suggestion Varmint! We have not used them - yet. All in all a good choice thus far. It takes a bit of getting used to the controls for someone who has only dug and lifted with a shovel and a jack.

Anyway... photos to come, but not in this section, I will post some when the time is right.

Thanks once again for all the input!

Glad you got the right tractor for you! It sure looks to be a fine looking tractor with proper attachments. I like the size you chose as well, as it is the same size as my Mahindra; just a bit bigger than the Sub compact and a bit smaller than a full size unit. That sucker will save you hours of back breaking labor and will last for years to come. Projects will grow in number as you complete others. All part of having a good tool for the task at hand.

Congrats
