Hi everyone! I thought I'd pop back in to see if someone can give me a sense of direction on how to asses a value for my BX2200. I bought it the summer of 2001. It has 425 hours on it. I've done all of the services (and then some right.... we're TBN'ers!!!! haha). It is a Kubota 60" deck and a Kubota rear PTO bagger.

Thanks for any estimates, or redirects to a good source for this info. And thanks for all of the other help over these many years. TBN was my first forum EVER!

That's a good site, thanks! It seems the hours on the engine matters more than the age based on what I'm seeing there? Is that about right? And what would be considered, low, normal and high for hours?

I just traded in a BX1860, 48 in Mid Mount Mower and a LA203 loader. I had 144 hours on a 2010 unit. Was allowed 8500.00 trade in on B2601. The best offering that I have seen on a comperable unit was for sale at Messicks, a forum sponsor, and was offered for 10K. The BX2200 was an even older model and should not be worth that much, but just search Kubota BX2200 and look at the descriptions and asking prices for comparison. Next you have to ask, Should I Just buy a NEW ONE? Then there are no surprises...Kubota prices on the equipment till 12/31/2015 includes 0.0% interest for 60 months on most of their tractors, with a few exclusions.

My advice is to start exactly as mikesee says above (going to Tractor House) and look at all you find available. You may even luck out and find something within reasonable driving distance using Craig's List. Hopefully you have time to do it right by going slow. Visit a few dealers on a scouting trip. Sometimes they take pretty decent machines on trade and having their service Depts. go over the thing is worth a lot.

I bought a BX2200 14 years ago used with 235 hrs on it for $9300 from an ad in a paper. It had a FEL, a small blade, and a 60" mid mount mower deck. Like new is no exaggeration. It has been super all the way around and now has about 650hrs on it. Will outlast me ! Bought another for someone else (600 & some hrs) about a year ago with no FEL and with a 60" deck. Paid $5800 for it from a dealer. While no where near as good a shape as mine, still a good machine. It had one major issue with getting the fuel system FINALLY cleaned out and needs a steering cylinder rebuild. Pain but still fairly good value. I bought a BX2230 for another person with FEL and 60" deck having 560hrs onit. $6700 from a dealer who took it in trade. The new owner has had no problems with it in over a year. It probably needs a steering cylinder rebuild as well. That 2230 is probably the best deal I have seen on a BX2200 to 2300 to 2230 sort of machine in a long time.

All that said, you really want to spend plenty of time looking at a whole bunch of candidates. Narrow it to 3 or 4 and then go after details and talk to people about the machines. Go drive it. It makes a fun chase if you don't want to put $14K in a new one.

Some pitfalls to look out for: I have seen SEVERAL that were just way "too good to be true." Great pictures. Bargain price. You look long enough and same one shows up 3 or 4 places. Same scenery in the background of the picture. Pure scams. The very best way to buy: from an individual who bought it new and needs to sell. Second best: from a dealer who took it in trade and has given it a serious going over. Comes down to condition versus price, with hours taken into consideration.

Good luck.

About $7500.

I bought a BX2200 with 620 hours last year - inc bucket, 5' MMM, front mount snowblower - $9000. Snowblower is worth more than a bagger, but mine was pretty beat up (I ended up rebuilding the whole thing including replacing every moving part), so we'll call that even. No bucket is worth (1000-1500) IMO.
