There will be no new TYM tractors produced for Cabela's but current stock will keep stores in the tractor market for the next year, implements will continue to be sourced from Woods with special efforts made to use the implements to complete a deal.

Reminds me of when Bobcat stopped selling Kioti (Daedong) Tractors with White paint. If I feel the need to buy a compact tractor in the next year I may run down to the headquarters in Sidney and see what they have available.

I was just there. They had maybe 5 tractors in stock ranging from about 50 hp with a cab to a BX sized tractor. I wasn't super impressed just looking at them.

From the start I thought it was unlikely that this would be a successful venture. Shortly after they started stocking them at the local store I was there a couple of times in a short timespan. Each time people were crawling all over the tractors, but I heard people reading the name off the data plate, and talking about how they were Korean machines, with commentary about the implements being Woods products. So, at least the people I saw were aware enough to know a little bit about what was happening....granted, that store is in a largely agricultural area. That told me they'd compare pricing with TYM, and we all know that wasn't going to be favorable.

I'm not surprised that the experiment didn't work out. Personally, I think those are darned ugly machines. Not a big deal, but which market research group told them we wanted tractors to look like alien insects from the front??

I like Cabelas and I looked at their tractors before buying my Massey scut. But I wasn't a fan of the tym product in a scut . . . and Cabelas for all thrir retail skill . . Didn't seem to have a good plan for traing their salespeople on selling tractors and seemed very lacking in having implement choices and options.
Boats and motors and atv products all seem to fit into their existing customer base of need and understanding . . but tractors was not . . . just as lawn mowers or televisions wouldn't be.
The entire sporting goods sector has been under financial pressure for the last several years (gander, dicks, etc. etc.). I think it makes total sense given Cabelas revenue issues that they reduce the weak links . . . and Tractors was not a strong sector for them (too long of a roll out effort for dtores and too long for models to be offered) At the same time . . those looking for Tym product and especially the mid sized cuts . . will likely come out very well in shopping Cabelas inventory that is either in stock or in the committment channel. Maybe Cabelas has a "year of product" . . . but I bet it will be all sold out by early summer.
Next time I'm in Minneapolis I'll stop at their grand showcase store and see what they are offering for incentives (curiosity . . not to actually buy).

Another thing to consider is the rumor that Cabela's is for sale. It might be part of making their sales price better by getting out of anything the hurts their net profit.

Yeah, I know I gave their tractor marketing guy a hard time in that big thread last year, but this is how most of us saw things ending. They're still sitting on 2014 models and I just got a postcard last week about special deals.
It's too bad about Woods though. If they were pulling out completely, this could've been a sweet time to run on the implements.
