I'm needing a New Holland 575E hauled from Marmaduke AR to Miccosukee FL. Anybody here in the business?

My experience is to hire someone that you're dealing with directly if at all possible. Dealt with brokers once trying to get a small bucket truck hauled 9-10 hours away. Over promised, under performed. 3 weeks later, no hauler and my buyer backed out.

That needs a separate section for the can hauls and need hauls. Would be much easier to navigate.

I probably just need to be more patient with my seller. It just keeps getting put off and not being definite about a delivery day. Starting to think I should have put it on Uship the day I paid for it.

Edit: Seller just called and said he was going to try and get it shipped tomorrow.

The site gives you the choice of viewing ads by type -- all, can haul, or need hauled.

He's probably getting false promises from brokers like I did. I kept getting promised dates & times of arrival for the truck that never showed. They strung me along to avoid losing the job. In the end, I lost the sale and they lost the job anyway.

Well in my situation I already bought and paid for the tractor. Been dealing direct with the seller on the delivery. He usually deals with one person for deliveries but I keep getting delayed. Finally the driver called today and said it would be middle of next week. Yet another delay after thinking I would get it today or tomorrow. It all started on December 29th with the seller saying the delivery guy was a week to a week and a half behind. I don't suspect any dishonesty. I just think they have more going on than they can get done but after a few delays it starts to get old. Kind of wishing I would have put it out on Uship the day I bought it but like you said that doesn't always work out either.

Driver is not "behind", he is doing what anyone would do and that is take higher paying loads until he gets a dead spot in his schedule, where you can then fit in.

Brokers and even owner-ops don't actually care about you getting your shipment, only the money they get from it. Even more so since delivery is not dire and I assume, not a special rate to guarantee delivery by a certain date.

Sounds like over promise and under deliver to me. I own a business. Jobs aren't sorted by which one brings in more money. If that happened some folks would never get their job done because a higher paying one always comes along. Which would bite me in the *** in the end due to bad word of mouth advertising.
Seems to me like these trucking outfits are hedging their bets and saying they'll get to it when they have a slow period. Meanwhile the customer who was promised a delivery but sits waiting with vague promises of when it will happen.
