Yeeee Ha! Played cowboy and rounded up and trailer 10 calves for auction. One was might testy and had to be rounded several time after jumping gates. Some were 700 lbs and you kind of had to move or be trampled. My parents should go with sheep like Eric, at least the loaders can't be injured as much during round-up.

Eric I have a few question on across the pond traditions. What is the purpose of a cracker at Christmas and do you'all really say Happy Christmas instead of Merry Christmas (like they do on Midsomers Murders).

We do indeed say Happy Christmas to one another. Merry is fine too. If I don't get banned, I will tell you more about crackers nearer the time - Christmas is another 345 sleeps (afternoon naps don't count ).

good morning all. A warmer 49 degrees going up to 60 today in clouds with another spot of rain coming in tomorrow.

We got about 3/4 of an inch of rain yesterday and it came down hard. Will be interesting to see how all my freshly leveled areas did with the water.
This morning I go down and stare at that little bridge/water ditch and figure out what to do with it. Seeking inspiration...Too many of these projects seem like (I hope this is not non-PC...) tarbabies, you get into them and you get stuck...

This isn't the only ditch I have to cross. I have a six foot deep one behind the rear of the barn that I need to either build a bridge over (land survey showed the little wooden bridge my predecessor had built was over the property line on my neighbor's place (granted, hard to tell...) so I no longer own that bridge. My thoughts were to KISS,and just cut down the sides of the ditch and dump a lot of heavy stone in there so I can cross with the tractor or the UTV. That works if I don't mind getting tires wet. if I want to make it fully dry, I'll have to elevate and then comes the complexity. So I'm facing a similar issue with both this little water diversion ditch and the main property ditch. The latter of which currently has a foot of water in it. The field ditch is usually wet and soft but no standing water.

Sure beats working...

Happy 1 year anniversary, Eric. Learned lots about sheep and pond weed monsters from you. Everything else English I've learned from Downton Abbey .

Went to see "13 Hours" least evening...very powerful movie...I've read a lot about Benghazi, and this film is the real thing.

Drew, lots of good bridge threads here. I think I recall you have a drainage ditch, without flowing water, so I'd recommend a big tile covered in gravel.

Power just came back on out about five hours or so. Rain is over next up light snow for tomorrow then coldest air of season high in twenties low in teens thru Wednesday

Went to local pizza place for anniversary dinner we both had a good time watched Dateline then to bed

36 with light rain headed to 40 today. Dump run, groceries and a hair cut this morning. Need to pick up some chicken feed so I think I'll check out Runnings today. I've been browsing their ads and website. They have the best price on a King Kutter tiller that I have found.

30 degrees and light snow right now. We should get about an inch of snow.The high is supposed to be 37.
Wife wants me to take her to the store this morning...after that, just putter around, I guess, until the snow ends. Than I'll clean the walks and deck.

BTW, did any of you read about the Tennessee woman who spent all her money on Powerball tickets, assuming she'd win? Now, she has a "GoFundMe" site and asking people to contribute money so she and her family can survive.
