Looking for a good Made in USA Tiller for a 32 horse Kubota

I've been "tilling for hire" since the 80's with three, 3 point tillers, all behind gear drive tractors...

Going too slow when tilling ruins the "soil structure" of your soil, I see it all the time with tiller owners who don't seem to know better!

I've been tilling for a long time too but i never have been able to out-drive the tiller. I always have to wait for the engine to catch up with the tiller. My "big" tractor now is 23 pto hp jd 2720. Everything else was several large garden tractors. I would like to have a 40 or 50 hp tractor but i don't have much use for one anymore.

I have read more about this too. Turning the soil into powder looks cool but I do believe it "ruins" the soil for growing. I now till less and compost more.

You are absolutely right... over tilling is just too common and your garden is never it's "best", when you do so...

I had the Land Pride RTR 1260 on my L3800. Never had an issue. Was a great tiller. Now have the RTR 1250 on my BX. Equally impressed.

I accept what you say is absolutely correct. And I'm certainly guilty of over-tilling. But, would you explain 'why' over-tilling ruins the soil please.

BTW, back on topic, I have a LandPride. Ten years old and never a spec of trouble with it behind my Kubota L3400.

There are many reasons, but the top reasons are... It pounds the soil so it won't hold moisture, then when it does get some water, it easily washes the nutrients right out...

In bad cases, the soil will get a "crust" on it, and the water/rain will flow right over it, leaving the plants water starved...

Sweettractors, does the Tarter do both forward and reverse or do you offer a forward model and also offer a reverse model?

Sorry about not getting back sooner, TBN is not letting me know when someone responds to threads I post to?? The tiller comes setup for forward, however, they can be reversed if you ever need to. Ken Sweet
