Just how the tractor comes. Its the same frame as the 5010 sat on. It wont limit you in the hayfield though.. at least for the size equipment youll be running with a 55hp since your in high 40s at the pto. I have a 40hp that im running a 7ft Mohawk on. it had cat 2s when I got it but cut them off and put 1s on. it really just depends on the weight of the equipment and how you use it. In hay equipment your mainly hooking up at the drawbar rather than 3pnt. your cutter will be three point but your limited to a very small hay cutter like 6ft. (disc cutter). And as far as baling goes you will need to stick to squares. You will be able to move rounds with the loader though

In truth it doesn't really matter for your situation. You can use a Cat1 or Cat2 implement. Most of my implements are Cat2, yet my Massey has Cat1 balls. YOU just use Cat1 pins on the implement.

Enjoy the new machine!

Cat 1 is fine for your tractor. As others have said, you won't have any problem finding the implements you want/need at a better value than their Cat 2 equivalent. Beside, the 'Cat' ratings are not etched in stone. They are guides to help prevent under- or over-powering the implement in question and possibly harming the tractor at the same time.

BTW, congrats on your new tractor! As a fellow 2555 owner, I can tell you that so far, mine has been a great treat tractor. This weekend, they're predicting our first snow storm of the season will hit. It's a Nor-Easter and could dump 12-15 inches of the fluffy stuff. It looks like I will finally get to use the Mahindra with its newly installed FEL-mount Erskine snowblower!!! Woo Hoo

That should be fun Unc. Since we live close by, I guess that'll come our way as well. Time to mount the snow pusher plates.

So Based on the information provided, I'm now thinking the difference between Cat 1 or 2 for my application is not that big a deal. I want to thank you all for the useful feedback.

Well provided the storm you folks are looking forward to playing in with your tractor doesn't travel to fast I should be getting my new 2555 Shuttle Cab with backhoe on Tuesday. My dealer told me baring any effects from the storm it should have departed Bloomberg PA. this morning. That means it should be at the dealer tomorrow and they will take Monday to clean, fuel, and last min checks for delivery on Tuesday. So guess who isn't going to work on Tuesday

Well it finally arrived today nice shiny 2555 Shuttle. Within the 1st hour I was introducing it to what my grandsons refer to as the POO-POO PILE.
