The reason for the handling of wire is that at every 20 ft the wire has to be placed into notches on metal posts with tension retained over a length of 750 ft. The notching and roll of the land precludes tensioning at the end of the run.

Can you show a picture of these posts? I guess I'm confused, but I've never heard of a fence that you didn't stretch from brace to brace.

I am sold on the knit gloves with the "dipped" rubber front like in the link above. I've been wearing a pair for a few weeks now. Handling firewood, building a shed and just general duties. They are still holding up. For a couple bucks a pair I'll stick to these

I use these $5.99/pair gloves from Harbor Freight. They last quite a while, and are quite comfortable. I have a XXL hand, and these conform to them in an hour or so. The material back allows this I think. They are cotton lined, which is usually what gives up the ghost after a few months. Gloves are just all around good. And, for the price, I have usually 5-10 pair hanging in the shop.

Now I understand. I’ve never seen those posts before. I assume the fence isn’t to keep animals in or out? It LOOKS like you might be able to stretch after everything is installed, but I know looks can be deceiving. Didn’t mean to derail the thread.

I have had pretty good luck and good durability with the Sears Craftsman Mechanic Gloves. I beat them up pretty good and they last as good as anything out there.
