Hi, gang!

First time tractor/backhoe owner here. I've got 59 acres of recreation land that needs some dirt moved, stumps dug, windfalls cleared, and roads/trails cleaned up. I just found the solution to my problems (I hope lol). I am the proud new owner of a 1969 Case 580CK w/loader and backhoe. It has the diesel engine, shuttle shift, fires right up, and all hydraulics work (with quite a few new hoses). It was from a farm near here where it was used for snow plowing (hence the widened bucket) and the occasional stump pull. I'm really looking forward to learning what it can do!! Would love to hear any comments, advice, etc. from the learned folks on here , as I've perused these forums a lot for valuable information as I've been searching for my backhoe.

I've never been to Lewiston, but close, coming out of Lolo on 12? to McCall. That's some beautiful country there so a little backround of the countryside would be welcome if you happen to post some pics!

Rusty, sounds like you've been close for sure! It is awful nice country, without a doubt, and I feel lucky. Thanks for the encouraging words. I got the tractor here (to my house) today, and am gonna mess with it a bit before I take it up to the property (then I'll take some more pics)

Congratulations!! I owned that same outfit for use on my farm and sold it about 3 or 4 yrs ago. They are a workhorse and will do most of what you describe very easily. One word of caution, they will turn over in a heartbeat. Be extremely careful on the slightest slopes. Install a Roll bar and seat belt asap. Ken Sweet

Did a bunch of maintenence since my last post, put on new rubber (ballasted), and installed a mechanical thumb. Got her up to the place last month, and wanted to share a couple pictures of the old girl in her new home.
