Our mail lady is great. We always gift her. She even calla to let us know about packages, etc.
To begin with it didn't require a signature and no where in my post does it say that it did.I went back and read it again, 3 or 4 times. I don’t see anything that shows they lied about attempting to deliver it. He said they did, but the story doesn’t even suggest as much.
If someone orders something that requires a signature, either stick around the house or don’t be so stubborn and refuse to go get it. Again, he wanted it Friday and it made it Monday. I think the world will go on.
You got that right!
Another wise man once told me that no one but yourself can make you upset. Others can only influence the conditions around you. Unfortunately for some of us it's easy to let the conditions accumulate and result in being upset because of them.

My wife was home all day both days they said they attempted delivery.
I was on the phone with the post office Saturday morning at the same time they said the delivery was attempted for a second time, that is when they told me our mailman wasn't making any deliveries that day.
SO Yes they did lie about attempting to deliver the package.

That's the whole point. No signature was required, they didn't attempt delivery - even though they said they did.Okay, something isn't making sense. If it didn't require a signature, and they said "attempted delivery" what does that mean? One would assume it means the weather prevented them from delivering it (whether you thought the roads were bad or not). Is that what you're suggesting is a lie? That seems more like a poor choice of terminology to me. Regardless, I think you're overreacting.
In a flowers, ponies and hugs n kisses world that might be a factual statement. In the real world, when there are deadlines like getting a job done before liquidated damages start ( that's where YOU pay for the job, instead of them paying you for the job )... having that laser need to be worked on and sending it off express, paying expidited charges to the calibration company for next day service, then express back, and have the USPS guy go lala and take 2 weeks to deliver it.. that causes you to be upset, because the rest of the world is a train and will hit you if you stand on the tracks smelling the flowers for the cruddy USPS guy to decide if he wannts to be a productive member of society and actually do his work that day.. or just slouch. For those that have the capability to live in a flowers, hugs and kisses world where no outside influences can back up on them... well.. good for you I guess.

But that only applies when there IS a signature required. For normal packages, they just bring it the next day. At least in my experience. And I don’t think they ever send something back. In my experience they hold it at the Post Office until you come get it.T
Once they mark it as delivery was attempted you have to call & reschedule the delivery. If you don't they return the package.
I think you only have 3 days to call to reschedule before they send it back.
.
What if the delivery was life saving medicine or something else with time related urgency?
