Would a gate solve the problem?

And what about that time when you need to have one of your kids come over in the middle of the night? What if you had to call an Ambulance and they couldn't get in? What if your house caught on fire and the firetruck couldn't get through? This just sounds like a bad idea. How about one of those fancy schmancy one way gates at the car rental place. You can drive in but you can't drive out without destroying the tires. They can be lowered to let people leave without puncturing their tires. Problem is they'd probably find some way to sue you for damaging their tires.
It's a pain getting in & out of the truck, but we keep our gates locked. Matter of fact, all access points have gates and locks. No unwanted visitors.
