It is a 2015 3540 HST with a ROPS no cab with 11 hrs on the clock and I am talking about the headlights on the front of the tractor.They shine as soon as the key is turned on and there are no other lights on including any of the instrument cluster lights.Very unusual problem IMHO.

Pull fuse F5. The lights should go out. If they do the switch is bad. If they don't there is a short to Battery on the light circuit.:thumbsup:

I pulled the 15 amp fuse for the low beam headlight and that cut them off.When I spoke with the service manager about this issue we both concluded that it was more than likely a faulty switch and he had one ordered.He said that mine would be the first that he had seen go bad since they had been selling Mahindras and would send a mechanic the 55 miles to me for the fix.Thanks Jabonee for your help!

I just wanted to let everyone know the status of my tractor. I took her to a new dealer (the original dealer dropped Mahindra around first of the year) to have the AC fixed & they did an ECU update on her. Before the update if it was above 65 degrees I wouldn't even see the glow plug light & below 65 it would come on for 10-15 seconds. After the update it now comes on every time the key is turned on for 25-30 second, & stays on for another 15-20 seconds after she is cranked and running. I can tell a definite difference in the sound of the engine until the light goes out. Usually if it warm & has already been warmed up for a while I will just go ahead and crank her without waiting for the light to go out as it never made a difference before & even the dealer didn't wait on it when he brought the tractor back home. I do worry that this will shorten the life of the plugs however. Has anyone had a similar experience after the ECU upgrade? Do some of you have an opinion on the life of the plugs? Thanks!

Most Mahindra's, like your 2565, do not use glow plugs... You have a grid heater located just before your intake manifold where the big pipe brings the air in from your intercooler. You will see one or two big wires going to it since it uses a lot of current when activated. Grid heaters can last a long time, I have one on my 2001.5 Dodge Cummins that is still the original. I would not lose sleep over it. I have two Mahindri plus the Cummins, and they all start just fine without using the grid heater. The heater on the Mahindra is used in conjunction with the mCRD engine computer to help lower emmisions when the motor is first started, though.

Thanks for the info JerryK, I'm new to diesels as this is my first. I know the history & basic principles, but am learning day by day not only about diesels, but tractors as well. This site is a treasure trove of information to newbies like me. I really appreciate your help!

I would have suspected a relay as most headlights are switched with a relay and the relay is controlled by the headlight switch.
