Ammunition

I have a high point 45acp carbine, my buddy has the 9. both work perfectly. they are not as ugly as a high point pistol, or a glock, but they are a tad uglier than other carbines.

I have a taurus ct9 9mm carbine as well.

would I want to take game with them? not really, but I guess in a shtf situation.. yes, short range.

I think i might rather have a 44mag for taking deer.. but.. possible? sure.

I know guys that take deer with 30# recurve bows.

all about shot placement.

I like my Marlin Camp rifle in 45ACP. Especially that fact that it takes the same magazine as my 1911.

Haven't read the whole thread but; my SIL buys from "Cheaper Than Dirt" in FW TX. Their prices are way below what I see up here in the NW Socialist Republic. Seattle just passed an onerous ammo and accessory tax. Real glad I don't live over there. 301 Moved Permanently CTD has 7.62X39mm soft point at $23.89/100 RDs. They sell everything but the guns.

In Ma we need a firearms permit to buy ammo or to buy or even possess a firearm. Whole ammo or even it's components require a permit. Can't buy bullets, or casings, or powder without a permit. Can't buy any ammo or components thru the mail.

We live in the cradle of American liberty.

This why people stock up & hoard ammo.

Wow. How unconstitutional, I think.

What part of "shall not be infringed" does the govt not understand..

Hogs are nuisance animals here, hunt all year on private land, no permit needed
You can hunt them with dogs, or you can even trap them. They are not considered game animals on private property.
I have heard that some put clay pigeon fragments in feed. This will cause death....so I'm told.

Havnt heard they clay part, but yeah, lotsa digs n trapping. Just have to be careful. Male hog can mess up a dog.

I don't have enough money to fight it to the Supreme Court, do you want to help?

And I still wouldn't put it past SCOTUS to say that states can put 'reasonable" restrictions on it.

"Shall not be infringed" has no meaning to any state govt that I know of.

We were in Gander Mountain and Rural King this past weekend, and both of them large supplies of .22 lr ammo, no limit but your wallet.

At GM, they were the 325 round box for $25 (about 7.7 cents per round) - it was Federal. At Rural King, it was a brand that I have heard of and unfortunately can't remember - but they were $60/500 round brick - or $6 for a 50 round box. In both stores, they had tables full of them and I saw very few people leaving with them.

I don't think these prices are awful, but not as good as what I've seen elsewhere. Rural King also had a table of 9mm for $10/box, so I would have a hard time paying $6 for .22 lr.

Good luck and take care.
