Brand new CB65 backhoe- is this a problem

These are not super heavy duty cylinders. They will leak down over time.

As they wear, they will leak down sooner.

When they get to the point that they are a problem, it's time for new seals.

Not tempting fate, by doing things like driving really fast, over a bumpy road, with the FEL bucket loaded to the limit, will no doubt keep them working longer.

I recommend a bungee strap, between the outriggers on the backhoe, when not in use.

Nearest Massey dealers are Ott's Farm Equipment in Fallon, NV, and Sierra Tractor in Shingle Springs, CA. Both are strong dealers with good service. Ott's is an hour away, Sierra Tractor is more like 2+ hours.

My tractor choice came down to a GC1720 from Ott or GC1710 from Sierra Tractor. I chose the 1710. Both dealers are very good, I just favored the 1710 slightly over the 1720. In this case, Brian from Sierra Tractor drove to my location and fixed the backhoe on-site for no fee. Great service.

Still quite a drive... my compliments to the Dealer as it would be better part of a day with travel and repair time.

Can't you just put the shipping pins back in to hold the outriggers up?

Mine will also leak down over time, so I think it's pretty common and normal.

I set mine on a cut-off log, but leave the outriggers out with pads on the ground for storage. I know the cylinders are exposed, but so far no problems. (Earlier I used a couple of blocks of wood; now use a single log piece.)

Go ask your dealer for some!

a. My dealer stopped selling MF a long time ago.

b. There isn't anywhere I know of, to "pin" the outriggers on a 2375 backhoe.

c. I have a bungee cord, that has been doing a great job, for 10 years. And, I don't have to get back off the machine to remove the bungee cord, when I get up there, and realize I forgot it.
