New member wanting advice on Yanmar tractors.

Hello to everyone here. I would like to say that I appreciate websites like this because of the knowledge that everyone brings to the table. I am wanting to purchase a Yanmar tractor. I have it narrowed down to 2 models, the 2210d and the 3110d. I know there is a slight size and weight difference between the 2 tractors, and about 10hp too. The 2210d is a 2 cylinder and the 3110d is a 3 cylinder. As of now I'm only on 1.5 acres, but will be purchasing an additional 3 acres in the near future. I believe either model will work fine for me, I just can't decide on what model I want to choose. Both are 4x4 with FEL. As for implements, nothing yet but plan on 3pt blade, brush hog, & possibly a tiller at some point if the price is right. I have never sat on one of these tractors so Im not sure how comfortable they are or positioning of seat to pedals or steering wheel is either. I am 6ft tall if that matters. Also I have been told that the price difference between the 2 are about $1500. I am looking at making my purchase from Stan's in Minnesota. Anyone bought from there? Thanks

Hi. Welcome.

With the plan to additional acreage and only $1,500 difference in price I would opt for the larger tractor if the fit and feel is right.
Tillers use a lot of hp for there size.

Given you are going to have 4.5 acres shortly I would tend to get the 3110D. I also like at least 3 cylinders on a diesel engine for what I believe is generally smoother operation. Neither of these models are current so how do the conditions compare? Hours on each? Maintenance history on each?

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: I see Stans is a Fredrick dealer so good reputation. If the money difference is not going to be a deal breaker I would go for the 3110. Size difference is not that much and the extra horsepower will never get in the way.

Thanks for the advice. I am kind of leaning in that direction. I'm gonna give Stan's a call tomorrow to see if they have a 3110 available. Any advice on 2 vs 3 cylinder?

3 cylinders will be waaaay more smoother and quieter than the 2 cylinder.. You'll be able to see /hear that for yourself when you listen to them.. You probably already know this, but if it's a 3110.. it will be a 3 cylinder

Yep knew that already. Just can't decide for sure is all
