Welding Glove suggestions

For Tig welding I like to use an Ove Glove on the hand holding the torch. Most of the time the hand feeding the filler rod I leave bare.
For all other welding I buy the gloves from the welding supply.

Great idea Shield. Wife has a pair and, well, she will have to get another.

One more thing. I got tig fingers for Xmas last year. I believe the fingers are a metal. The problem I have with them is that the are hard to get over normal welding gloves, and when I got the thcker version they would slide off. But they work, my hand slides along the metal (my style of welding I guess) and I have not burned up the thick gloves like I normally do.

I recently bought a pack of 3 pair of welding gloves at Harbor Freight and am surprised at how comfortable and flexible the first pair is. They were inexpensive enough that if the second two pair don't work as well I still got my money's worth.

I was recently working at a small show held by Puget Sound Energy for lineman to try new products and I tried on a pair of Youngstown Kevlar FR gloves. They were very comfortable and although not designed for welding, I bought a pair.

Youngstown Gloves – Official Site for Youngstown Performance Work Gloves. Youngstown winter gloves are 100% Waterproof and Windproof.

I guess I got over confident with my brand new pretty gloves, and didn't realize I was leaning on a hot part with my support hand until it charred enough until it hurt my finger! But I have to say I think I was touching it for quite awhile. Nice dexterity but not cheap. Same thing happens when I buy a new shirt. I spill on it the first time out to dinner. Then never again!

The Miller 263343 Arc Armor MIG/Stick Welding Glove gets nice reviews.

Do they have Kevlar threads?
