MF GC2400 Trouble with forward motion

I discovered the same thing happening with my tractor. My tires are loaded with beet juice and I'd noticed some leakage around the bead. I checked the pressure yesterday and it barely registered on my dial gauge. Pumped them up to around 30 PSI and voila! Actual 4WD.

"I like these cheap fixes ☺" Oh, yeah! Learn somethin' new ev'ry day!

Can't say as I've ever seen a rim spinning in the tire like that, but good to know.

Blizzard, thanks much for the update!

Good call, MFRED.

Makes sense. There is lots of torque there, so the weakest point is going to move. Once they start to slip, it probably gets easier for them to do so.

I only ever worry about the air pressure in the front's, because the bead can come off the wheel, when turning.

We will all have to watch the rear tire pressure closer now.

I'm glad I found this post. I was just about to call the dealer because the tractor was having issues all of the sudden in forward gear. Was thrilled to find that it was just the rim spinning in the tire and not a potentially expensive issue. Easy-peasy fix right...until your valve stem explodes while putting some air in and shoots all your fluid out like a busted oil rig. You can guess where I was standing when it let loose.

Glad I don't have anything but air in my tires.

If rears are properly fluid filled10 oclock to 2 oclock air . . . and given the amount of weight on those rear tires . . . Wouldn't low tire pressure be quite visually noticeable ?? .

In my case I believe that they had been slowly loosing pressure over the course of 2 years so the change wasn't immediate. Plus I believe with the fluid they still retain their shape fairly well so low pressure is not very noticeable.

Interesting. Did I see you pumped them up to 30 pounds pressure? For my Massey Turf tires they recommend 22 pounds but I know some who run them a few pounds less for better sidehill grip or less bouncing on uneven lawns.
