Coolant smell/coolant loss

To eliminate one possibility, you could fill your expansion tank to the normal level, then tape an empty water bottle to the end of the hose coming off the expansion tank cap. If you find your missing coolant in the bottle, then you're done. If not, on to the next step.

So I went and spoke with the dealer and he was stating that it was normal for the level to go down some until it reaches its comfort zone????!!! Anyways, so I have place a piece of masking tape to mark where the level of the coolant was and it is still dropping dramatically. My level is barely above the low line. Can anyone please give me some insight as too where there level is on there tractor. Everytime I use the tractor, I get a faint smell of coolant. I don't see coolant on the ground or in the oil. I cant imagine it is expanding to the point where it is going out the overflow when the level at right about at the low level. Any assistance of guidance would be great.

Check all the coolant hose connections and heater hoses, after you run the tractor for a bit and get it warmed up. I like to use a nut driver and check them, don't over tighten but they need to be snug.

My anti-freeze level is just above the low line and it has held there for 2 years. Ever since I stopped adding fluid. The smell would not go away till after the first power wash.
I would first determine if you are losing it through the expansion tank overflow first. Need to rule out the easy things first.

Look at the ends of your radiator hoses. you will see it seeping out of the reinforcing threads of the hoses. The hoses are of a low quality porous rubber and they leak from the inside layer of rubber into the reinforcing fabric core and seep out the end.
