Wireless rear camera

Anyone see this outfit yet Hyndsight Vision Systems | Wireless Camera & Monitor System Somewhat salty on price $499

Hi Coobie,

Seems application specific to rowing boats, hence the need for it to be submersible, and thus likely more expensive than if it didn't have to be able to survive being submersed for up to 15 minutes. JMHO

It looks like a nice setup, but if you're just looking for a backup cam you could certainly do better on price/features....
I take it this is for Kioti use?;)

They "transmit" wireless doesn't mean that you don't have to wire the camera and receiver.Mounted one on my tractor(not a cheap one either),not much good in my book.Have on both the wife's car and my truck(factory set ups),again not much help.

Exactly. Wireless means it doesn't need a coax to send signal over but will still need power. Usually for trailer hitch cameras that already have a power connector back there.

You can send video over a cheaper rca cable that's very thin and east to run alongside a 16ga power cable. It's quite easy to do and works better than wireless. There are nice screens available that you can connect multiple cameras to and they'll switch back and forth.

I plan to do at least a 2 cam setup for my cab kioti when I get around to it.

I have them in my van for side /rear view. They are amazing.

Look up the $50 camera/screen thread that was popular here recently. Lots of good ideas. You can easily install a screen and rear (and front) camera on a tractor.

There are models of wireless camera that don't require a camera power supply (eg Swifthitch and iBall), but I understand a hard-wired model will pretty much always give a better/more reliable picture quality. Will a camera mounted inside the cab, looking down and back, work OK, or would the glass interfere with the camera (focus, IR or whatever)?
