I've been thinking a pickup bed trailer with dual fuel tanks still installed would be pretty handy.

Bruce

Might have to do some engineering on them to get the fuel out and if the tanks has/had gas in them, modifications might require caution, but the getting and filling should work good.

Thinking about buying this, ebay has this 30 gal. caddy for under $200.00, has Northern Tool lost it's mind? Anyone have one and like how it work's? I'm just not to keen on the 12 revolutions per gallon, using my math formula I require 72 round trips to fill my tractor, now how long is that gonna take, I don't have all day.

There was a really long thread on this about 3 years ago. You might search for it.

I still use 5 gallon containers because it gives me a way (short of getting an accurate flow meter) to keep track of fuel consumption, too. Much of my fuel is pumped via a 12v pump on my diesel generator into the 5 gallon containers. Then I later bring in more and siphon them into the generator's tank. Could, with a tad longer line, pump directly from the generator's 60 gallon tank to the tractor's but I want to keep track of the fuel usage both out of the generator's tank and into the tractor's.

I just do a double lift, once from ground to foot boards on the tractor and then to its hood where I siphon the first approximately 2.5-3 gallons. Then it is light enough to just pour in.

One plus for the lemony 1025: it had a saddle tank. Only had to lift to the tractor seat.

I have a GasBoy rotating handle pump that pumps 5 gallons in 24ish turns. Mounted on a 55 gallon drum on a small platform in the tractor shed. I usually bring home several trips of 3 cans, 6 gallons each to fill it. The barrel came from Cenex and had new engine oil in it so I "bought" it from them for the $20 deposit. GasBoy was an auction sale, filter and auto-off nozzle and hose was Ebay. SUPER setup as I don't have to put anything on the hood anymore and can pour into the barrel fast with a funnel and my modified cans without the stupid government spout.

I think GasBoy rotating pump ran out of gas, couldn't find a new one for sale, so now I'm looking down the 12 volt transfer pump trail and see where that goes. Then take a look a 30 gal. barrel, think I can afford to fill that up at $2.20/gal, then after it's full, I can still move it by hand if needed.

Personally, a 12VDC diesel pump is the best way to go. Especially when it's teamed with a triggered nozzle. That's the way I've gone as my fuel tank is filled from on top (a real PITA and balancing act with a 20ltr/5gal can). I just place the nozzle in the hole, hop down and turn on the pump, climb back up and fill the tank, release the nozzle trigger then climb down & turn off the pump.

At first I ran the pump off of the tractor's battery, later I bought a marine battery & mounted it on the wheeled pallet with the 50ltr/20gal bowser. Works a treat and a real back-saver.

I'm kind of liking the 12VDC pump idea too. I might see if there's such a thing as an 110V electric pump though, I just want to hit the switch and fill up. If not maybe I'll do what you did, get a marine battery. Or see if someone make's a special plugin/outlet for the 12V pump that I could mounted on the tractor, it would become a pain real quick to lift up the tractor hood every time to clamp on the clamps.
A 30 gal. barrel is now being shipped from ebay/Zorro Tools, $54.00 so far in this 101 way's to get fuel project.

I just pump heating oil out of my tank for the garage furnace .
