Alright this is the skinny on my new (used) box blade.

THE THING IS AWESOME!!!!

Got it hooked up and rolling this morning, bladed out my newly cleared 10 acres in a half a day. This included picking out roots, small stumps and the like. This thing is so easy to get a clean, smooth surface, it's remarkable. Man am I glad I listened to you fellas and raced up there and bought the thing. By the way, I went up there with cash and the seller wouldn't come off his price a nickle, so I laid down the $1250 and I am already forgetting what I paid for it because it is a **** of a piece of equipment. Sorry no pictures yet but I will post them on my rig.

Thanks again!!!

glad to hear it's working great and earing it's keep. $1250 is a fair price either way.

Yep, you can get your money back anytime, now, or 10 years from now. Congrats on a great find.

I now understand the importance of this unit vs a typical BB. Thanks for the explanation gents.

Not sure any of his pics have shown the manual process to raise/lower the scarifier? There's a handle sticking up about 3 feet above the top link tower. It is also leaning forward. Intent being that it can be reached from the tractor seat. The scarifier beam has a spring assist mechanism that helps to raise the scarifier bar which is quite heavy. So,, worse case scenario, if he can't reach the lever from the tractor seat, he simply dismounts and pulls the handle, now his scarifiers are all down/up, whichever he desires. Very handy and easily versatile.

Where I live in Florida the soil is mostly a mixture of organics and sand so I really don't have a day to day use for the scarifiers. If I have to blade limerock or the such they will come in handy, so no big deal for me to work them manually. This thing is a beast!

I totally agree. Unless they are commonly used there's no need to convert.

Someone on TBN did a very good conversion. I almost want to say it was BCP, but maybe not. Since all the pieces are there yours can be converted very easily.

When you get a chance to use it give us an update, with pictures of course!!! :)

Quick picture of the box blade on my Kubota. Tried a little Kubota orange paint on the top, not sure if I can make this one look like a trailer queen, but sure works good!

I never even attempted to paint mine. But if I got the overwhelming urge, I'd have it sandblasted, then I'd paint it. :)

I was thinking of taking down to MAACO for one of those fancy $99 paint jobs, but I think I will just beat the crap out of it on the back of my rig!
