Had someone return a tiller... problem was I forgot I loaned it to him. Actually the bigger problem was I reported it stolen. :cop: . . . . :ashamed: . . . . . :mur:

I lost my GPS while hunting a couple of years ago. I looked for it, backtracked for about 45 mins with no luck, especially since it was in a green neoprene case. A couple of days later while moving across the mountain from a different location as I was stepping over a log there it was sitting on the log. I picked it up and later that evening showed my hunting buddy that I found it. I put it in my gear box that evening before heading home and haven't seen it since.

I now put blaze orange parachute cord on all my loose gear!

Well, I had to google the 3 tree knock thing. I have never heard of that, I guess I wasn't up on my sasquatch lore. Now I am.

I vote you ran over and smashed the saw into the mud. You didn't leave the saw where you think you did. If you did, it would still be there. I ain't never seen me no sasquatch. 'cept a little on TV.:D

I once scooped and dumped a pile of stuff with my front loader, forgetting a chainsaw and toolbox were in the bucket. Thankfully no damage. But if I hadn't spotted the chainsaw when it got dumped out, I probably would have left it and then been scratching my head later. When I forget where I put something, it makes it real easy for it to get lost worse later on.

I have on several times scooped stuff up with the front end loader and then dumped it only to find tools that were in there. Was missing several chains for a while. I knew where they were and was able to find them. Got lucky I saw my wood splitting maul bright yellow handle sticking out of the dirt I just dumped.

The older I get the more it happens, lol. Especially when tired, a little early hear for a nap though. ; )

Eric you thought you left it in front of the tree but it's actually behind it. Now get back out there and keep looking so we can hear where you found it ( or left it) .

Sorry to hear about that. Would make me sick. Lost my wedding ring once while working on the pool. Water was really cold and it flew right off my finger. Didnt help that I had recently lost a little weight (no worries, I have since gained it back. :) ). Looked and looked for about 6 weeks and finally found it 10' away in the grass. Cant believe I mowed all those times and it stayed there.

Know the feeling. Was building an earthen dam on an active creek. Had a hired excavator at work and I would walk over the dirt and make sure it was going as I wanted. Got distracted with some other work, then noticed my cell phone was missing. Looked all over the shop and area, gave up and went back to the dam. The excavator was just piling a huge scoop of dirt on the middle of the dam. Just as he dumped it is spotted the cell right beneath the bucket. Nine years later and it's still there I guess. We joked about calling it for a year.

Then, several years back, I was fighting a big snowstorm all day with FEL and rear blade. Came in late and discovered my wallet was missing. The JD seat had a way of pushing up as I sat down sometimes. Spent hours the next morning walking the areas I'd plowed... Nothing. Four months later, spring time, taking a leisure walk along a forest road... Found the wallet right in the middle of the road. Soaked, but mostly recoverable.

You may just find your equipment when you least expect it.

I have found people's nails that they must have "lost" in trees. Mostly with a metal detector.
