I live neAr you Deezl, and I share your opinion of the local John Deere dealer. The parts dept is the only decent part of that dealer operation. I have bought a UTV,a Z turn mower, and a couple of implements from the Kubotas dealer, Pacific Tractor, and have had good results with both service and parts dept. Like most Kubota dealers in this area, they don't budge much on price, but their product is excellent, and commands the higher price.
In the long run, if you like both products equally, I think the Kubota will offer less headaches after the sale. I was surprised to read your comments that LS didn't want to sell you a tractor, I had the opposite experience with them, though I couldn't vouch for the service dept, as it's never been back. I did have a leaking o ring the first month I had it, but they came out and fixed it onsite. Not trying to push LS though, I have both JD and Kubota machines here, and they both have proved themselves as tough and reliable machines.
