Dealership keeps calling, wont come down on price

I just did the same as BoylermanCT checked all local dealers they would not budge at 1500 too much , made a deal 4 hours away over the computer. 2 days later one of the local dealers called up agreeing to my deal and I politely told them they were 2 days 2 late .

Has anyone ever had a dealership call them twice a day, every day, for two whole weeks and REFUSE to come down on their asking price? What's the point? I've got to where I don't even answer their calls anymore because it's just a waste of time. Why do they keep calling? Their numbers don't match my numbers and we've hashed this out on 4 separate occasions now. This is the Ford dealership I mentioned in another post that I stopped by to look at and test drive an F-250 set up like I want. We are $3000 apart in the final numbers, I was willing to come to $1500 IF they threw in a spray in bed liner and/or side steps. No dice they said, their price was the price. Fine, I left. They called back two days later and said they'd still do that price they quoted me (even though they said it was a today only price when I was in the office.lol). I have the ball in my court because I don't NEED a new truck but if the right deal and right truck comes along I'll jump on it. Right truck showed up, wrong deal, so I walked. I don't get emotional with car shopping, I walk away in a heartbeat. I've never had a dealer be this aggressive and refuse to negotiate in the process. This is new for me. I thought I'd seen and heard it all when it came to car salesman.

I think that something may be going on. My local Ford dealer called me yesterday and told me that the resale value was so high on my 2014 F150 (steel) truck I am leasing, that they said they can put me into a new one (aluminum) for the same lease payments, even though there has been quite a price increase with the new aluminum trucks. And I am still in the first year and a half of my lease!

Can't figure it out. But, I am going down to the dealer tomorrow to see what the details are.

The deal is they just got a customer in the door. Dealers always have a 2 to 5 percent hold back on their invoices. They can sell for invoice and still make money on some of the higher priced units - not so much on a escort.

A few years ago looking at car for my wife. We stopped in Toyota dealer to look at options. Would not let us even look at cars until we filled out credit application. Said no to that. Then blocked us leaving until GM came over to say hi. Know where I am not looking at trucks this year

I get offers like that all the time saying they "need" my 2013 and can get me into a new one for the Same amount.

When I ask them is it for the same amount of payments left and is it for the Limited edition f150 I have (not the platinum) they are dumbfounded.

Subscribed to see how it turns out.

I think I'd just tell them I am no longer I interested. I wouldn't say something like " don't call til you are willing to accept my price"

As you said, you don't need a truck. I wouldn't want them waiting 3 weeks, then calling because they are desperate to bit a quota. By that time, your price should be alot lower than you started with, just because they want to play games and screw you around

Vultures.
I go into a car/truck dealership with the attitude that I am doing them a favour by wandering through the door and an even bigger favour by actually buying a vehicle off them. That works for me. I wait until the paperwork signing to tell them it is a lease.
I had a Dodge dealer move heaven and earth to get me a standard transmission AND cruise control. He told me that it was a very expensive option. I told him that it was a deal breaker. He got me the deal and at the paperwork signing I told him, lease. He was not happy.

My local toyota dealer must be an hour away. I had to buy a new used car and they sold it to me for about $4500 less than the people down the road. They like to turn them over fast and they do. Ed
