parking spaces are narrower than in the past . I drive a Ford excursion . Had to go to the grocery store . //
Not really.

Most of the spaces near the store are for compact cars. Some are so marked, some not.

To get a regular sized space you have to walk another 50 to 100 feet. But SUV drivers have to be near the door in case there's an apocalypse apparently.

BTW the little sign under the back wiper says, "I'm a Parking Piggie" with a drawing of a little pig face. Classic.

That's not even a big SUV. Imagine what an Excursion would look like in there!

Because of the nature of the SUV market, they always try to make them look big.

An Excursion is 80" wide, a Pilot is 78.5, and most minivans are about 79". All the "Big Girls" like to park near the front door.

I park way out, as the same people who want to park as close as possible seem not to care if their door bashes the side of yours, either. The vehicles I drive are 70-72" wide.

2 days ago was visiting another company, parked way out, lots of open spaces. When i left someone had parked up tight to my drivers side where i couldn't get in. Had to crawl over from the other side. What an idjit.

Also had a dealer tell me i couldnt get a vehicle at invoice. Their price was over MSRP because of popularity. I got it for my price, but never bothered to go back to show them.
Last vehicle i bought, 2 dealers were dealing with me on the same vehicle. The lowest price dealer got it transfered to them from the dealer who had the vehicle, but wouldn't beat the other price.
Almost bought a tundra from ashville NC because they had it $5k less than my best MD quote. Ended up buying my 2500HD instead.

When I bought our Subaru Outback 3.0R in 2006, there was only one like it in New England. One local dealer quoted me $1,800 more than I paid for exactly the same vehicle, that was at a dealership in VT.

I once had a dealer want $330 over sticker for a plain Jane Toyota Tundra. I argued with him for a minute and offered him $2,000 under sticker. He said no way and that he would have to get an additional $400 because it had to come from a dealer 70 miles away because I wanted it flatbed trucked in. What a dipstick.

All this was over the phone so I searched dealers 70 miles out and called around to find the dealer that had the truck. Piece of cake. Bought it for $1,800 under sticker, no extra prices and got a sliding rear window for free. They thanked me for coming in and the full price guy called for a while until he moved on in life.

I'm still getting calls and more so e-mails from last December... have let everyone know the new truck has been delivered and am no longer in the market.

I've been casually looking for a new commuter car. A hyundia dealer 45 min away posts all their prices on the internet, lower than truecar prices.

Hyundai and Kia have lots of followers here...

Not a clue how they do with rust issues in snow country.

My inlaws have a '09 Sonata and a '12 Santa Fe. No rust that I have seen on either (MUCH better than the '06 Caravan that my sister in law has, the bottom 6" of the doors is pretty much all rust).
A lady at work has a first generation ('06 or older) Santa Fe and there isn't any obvious rust on it either.
