Your choices are a little limited in the used market.Stay away from anything Polaris less than 900cc.The new Honda 1000cc has good reviews the 700cc not so much.Yamaha has a 6 seat Viking but just introduced so the used market will be slim.Kawaski Mule Pro FX also looks interesting.
I have a friend that has owned four Polaris Rangers,keeps trading because of problems.His last one a 800cc blew the motor a $4,000 fix.Another has a 900cc six seater ,so far ok.

I would stay away from the Ranger 800 Crews unless you know the owner and can trust that you will get an honest assessment of it. While the majority of them work great some of them have overheating and reliability issues. I know; I have one of the problem units. The Ranger 900 Crews are a much better unit but haven't been out as long and will probably be harder to find. These aren't cheap even used however. If cost is a primary issue then older Mules and Gators may be the way to go.

It would depend on how rough your terrain is, but we went with a used 48v Club Car.....$2800 just off lease couple years ago. Golf courses lease them for 3- 4 years, then sell them off. You can put lift kits/knobby tires/etc on them for under a grand if you need to (we didn't)
Already have a Yamaha 600cc 4wheeler, but the cart really suits us to run down to the gardens, go mailbox (1/2 mile), go chickens, etc. Love not having another tank to fill, change oil, etc. Original batteries are 6 yr old now, and will need replacing, probably this year, $800 or so, but for OUR use, and the money, beats a Gator type ATV.
One thing I will say....as original (golf course set up), they ain't worth a flip in the least bit of snow !
