Seems like it mostly comes down to whatever the potential buyer can negotiate with the potential dealer... but a good guess might be 10% or so, not much more on new models that aren't gathering rust on a dealer's lot. My only experience is buying used Kubotas, and there wasn't much negotiating to be done there... some, but in one case, only about 5% less, if I recall. But then, the price seemed very fair to me, so I didn't whine too much. When I sell tractors, I price them for what I need to get, and I think I communicate that to potential buyers...

I know with what we got for a package, it was around 25% off the website. With the deal I got at the dealer, and incentives I think we did ok. I've seen people get better deals than what I paid. Another factor, atleast what I found is your geographic location. For some reason in New England we pay more for a lot of stuff. Maybe I would have done better buying from a dealer from the South, but I chose to support a local dealer. We did fine and are happy with what we got.

One more thing lol, ours was still on a tractor trailer being shipped from the factory. He just didn't have the tractor optioned the way I wanted it but had the exact one on order. Time of year helps a bit too I found, rebates and incentives are pretty aggressive Jan. and Feb. atleast while we were looking. I even looked during the Fair Season, that's not a bad time to buy either around here.

My Kubota discounts have all been in the 12% range from the same dealer.

For trenching you can use a Rip & Dig bucket attachment, which can also be used to plant trees, although a Bucket Spade is a little better. (You cannot trench with a Bucket Spade.)

Put the $6,000 toward the tractor and implements.

After reading this I took your advice and researched these items. The hoe is now officially off the table. Which in turn rules out the little Used JD I had my eye on as well. Only reason it was in the hunt was for the hoe. It's size is most likely adequate but I really wanted something a little bigger and heavier. Thanks for the advise. The soil where I live is not a lot different from where you are so these items will do nicely. And what's better is I can get that stuff as needed and not include it in the initial investment and use that money to buy more tractor.

I doubt you could have done that much better down south. The price may have been better but the shipping is astronomical. I know because I'm one of the guys Kubota, JD and New Holland calls to ship new tractors and it cost big money for me to come up there. Personally I don't go north of Baltimore for less than 3 grand. Doesn't matter if only one unit or as many as will fit it cost a minimum of that for me to cross that line. I do go North for less but not North east. Couple that with higher property cost and taxes and I can easily see why NE dealers have to get more for what they sale.

So another day of research has come and gone. I have ruled out the 1025r and any other SCUT as well. I called Barlow 3 times and left messages each time. Calls where never returned. Not even a sorry I missed your call, call. They will have to give me one sweet deal for me to buy from them now. Not real thrilled about Kubota anyway. I haul new ones out of the Georgia factory fairly regular and when I deliver there are always nuts and bolts laying on the trailer and usually at least one puddle of hydraulic fluid. If I see where it came from I always point it out to the dealer but they seldom seem to care. I also haul for JD. They have a huge plant about 20 miles from my home where the build mostly compacts. I never have stuff on the trailer from them. A few weeks ago I stopped at a dealer in Texas that had pretty red tractors just to see what they were all about. Had never heard of them. The tractors looked very well built but I wasn't familiar with the name Branson. I checked out info on them and found Ga only had 4 dealers but finally assembly and distribution center are located in Rome Ga. I wrote them off any way partly due to familiarality and partly cause of lack of a close by dealer. For some reason that red kept calling my name today so I starting reading up on them on here. That lead to a call to the dealer in Rome Ga. There are 2 closer to me but I called them due to proximity to the brands home base for the US. This dealer was extremely attentive to my concerns. He assured me that most any part I might need he could have at my door step in 24 hours. He further went to to say most consumable items were readily available at Napa. Another Ga based company. Air filters seem to be the exception but he wasn't positive Napa didn't have it just said most people order that through him. He further gave me a rough quote on several models in the 30hp range that I thought were very good. I put the Branson's back on the table for consideration.
