I like the way you fixed that leaking rod seal for good.

Bruce

Not quite.

I did use the drop from shortening the rod to extend the fixed eye though. The adjustable draft sensing doesn't leave much room for the cylinder at the tractor, so it needs to be poked out or you lose the use of the bottom holes (and all your automaticness).

Arkydog, got a chuckle reading your post, my problem is when I install a new roll and when running the wire through the rolls, sometimes the wire starts to unravel from the reel. Talk about problems! Best regards, Bob

Been there, done that. I put a piece of painters tape across the wire. That eliminates the unraveling.

I see your deductive reasoning is on par with your MIG electrode threading skills. :D
What was there to deduct?...I posted an observation based directly on what you had said...
BTW...deduct this:

rhunt, i appreciate your reply. glad you brought it up.

what i do first is to firmly tighten the spool tension. this keeps the wire from birds nesting.
.
then with both hands, one on spool, other holding wire, i turn spool and advance wire at same time.

with the wire hand i feed the first guide and at the same time turn the tensioned spool and advance the wire into the first guide and then the already the opened rollers(no need to change roller tension setting using same size dia. wire).

close the roller tensioner, remove gun if already haven't, turn down voltage and up wire speed

remember to leave electrical plug on gun plugged in, pull trigger advancing wire and then into liner. install gun in machine, remove gun tip, str. gun out and advance wire thru gun and out.

hope this help for those that have to remove the gun on multi use machines like those with spool funs for aluminum.

.

{Btw: this is all binary code which translates to "Bite me you repugnant *** wipe" *** is a synonym for "butt" }

Still wondering how good of weldor you are to be giving advice about it? Show us some beads. :D

Ad hominem is a really weak position to argue from btw. ;)

jim timber, why are so nasty, this was a thread to inform other people that might have problems spooling the wire in most any kind of mig welder, not to have everybody that reads this thread to show what an ***** you are.
