is one of the new ones with the electronic ignition? If so are you having any problems with it?
Yes, but all saws have electronic ignition, what they have is, "auto adjust" carbs. (auto tune)

I have two Husqvarna auto tune saws, both have run perfect from day one...

They always start, idle and run just like they are suppose to and I really like them!

A two or three saw system is the way to go. Have a beast that's capable of quickly felling your largest trees (the faster you can whittle out the felling cuts, the more time you have before the tree starts moving), and then have a bucking saw that's not so abusive on your shoulders/back, and then a limbing saw that's lighter yet is nice too.

Agree with this....... and this is the system I use.

I have yet to get my hands inside one of those AutoTune saws, but I would like to. According
to a Husky rep, Stihl licenses the technology for their M-Tronic from Husqvarna (maker of Husky,
Poulan, RedMax, Jonsered).

The AutoTune system stores history on the number of starts and how recent, then adjusts the carb
via a solenoid fuel valve. There are sensors for RPM, carb temp, and throttle position. You need
to reset the microprocessor after doing engine work.

In a few years, fuel injection?

Probably the only thing keeping fuel injection out for now is, the cost and added weight...

Sitting in my JD easychair, watching the fire.

Guess this could have gone in the Seat Time thread, but that's WOOD burning...

Before the evening fire, I spent most of the day in the woods. Started pulling Autumn Olive to get access to some locust trees buried in the brush.

After about 2 hours of choker cable jerking, and fending off attacking bushes... where's my tractor?

I cleared enough to get to the trees with red ribbons, and a few others I liked.

And the fruits of my labor... some of them. These are from another area, but part of a nice harvest today.

That Olive is an invasive pest for sure. Not sure if you want too, but once I killed a bunch of that and multiflora rose with road salt around thier roots. This was before I was aware of some of the chemical "mowing" techniques available, and when road salt was cheaper also.:D

oops yes that is what I meant. They must be getting the problems corrected.

Here is what I do it works great for me, The crates are a half cord. This all that the L45 wants to lift though, glad they are not any heavier.
Sorry to reply to such an old post, but had couple questions; hoping you'd take time to answer. First, are you still happy w/ the 3-pt splitter? Struggling on whether to buy one vs a stand alone due to hours it runs up on the tractor (Kubota L4600 HST for me). I've read a lot of threads on this site about it and still struggling with that decision. The other question is palletizing the cord wood. I have wood palletized for seasoning, but when I deliver I have no tractor, thus I have to dump the pallets into the truck and then restock at destination. Pallets just help moving stuff around for me at the log site. How are you dealing with the palletized wood once you deliver it as it looks like you're going to do here? Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply. Jack
